“ Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem,‘ Aha! She is broken who was the gateway of the peoples; now she is turned over to me; I shall be filled; she is laid waste.’

“人子啊，泰尔讥笑耶路撒冷说，‘哈哈！那通往列国的门户已遭破坏，城门向我大开，她已荒凉，我必兴盛。’

“人子啊！因为推罗论到耶路撒冷说：‘哈哈！那万族的门已经破坏了，向我打开了；我必得丰满，她却成了荒场！’

「人子啊，因泰爾向耶路撒冷說：『阿哈，那作眾民之門的已經破壞，向我開放；她既變為荒場，我必豐盛。』

「人子啊，因推羅向耶路撒冷說：『啊哈！那眾民之門已經破壞，向我敞開；它既變為廢墟，我必豐盛。』

「人子啊，因推羅向耶路撒冷說：『啊哈！那眾民之門已經破壞，向我敞開；它既變為廢墟，我必豐盛。』

「人子啊，泰爾譏笑耶路撒冷說，『哈哈！那通往列國的門戶已遭破壞，城門向我大開，她已荒涼，我必興盛。』

“人子啊！因為推羅論到耶路撒冷說：‘哈哈！那萬族的門已經破壞了，向我打開了；我必得豐滿，她卻成了荒場！’

『人子啊，關於耶路撒冷、推羅既譏笑說：「啊哈！那做列族之民門戶的已經破壞了；她已經轉而屬於我了；我必得豐滿；她卻荒廢了！」

人子歟、推羅人論耶路撒冷曰、嘻嘻、眾民之門已破、皆歸於我、彼既荒涼、我必恢廓、

人子、昔耶路撒冷遭難之日、推羅之人譏之、曰、吁哉、民出入之所、其邑已破、民必歸余、皆屬我矣。

人子、推羅見耶路撒冷遭難、則曰吁哉、列民出入之門已破、今後一切必歸我、彼既荒蕪、我必豐滿、

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said of Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gate to the nations is broken, and its doors have swung open to me; now that she lies in ruins I will prosper,’

“ Son of man, Tyre laughed because of what happened to Jerusalem. The people of Tyre said,‘ Jerusalem is the gateway to the nations. But the gate is broken. Its doors have swung open to us. Jerusalem has been destroyed. So now we will succeed.’ ”

“ Son of man, because Tyre said concerning Jerusalem,‘ Aha, the gate of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste,’

“ Son of man, Tyre has rejoiced over the fall of Jerusalem, saying,‘ Ha! She who was the gateway to the rich trade routes to the east has been broken, and I am the heir! Because she has been made desolate, I will become wealthy!’

“ Son of man, because Tyre said about Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gateway to the peoples is shattered. She has been turned over to me. I will be filled now that she lies in ruins,’

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said in regard to Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gateway of the peoples is broken; it has opened to me. I shall be filled, now that she is laid waste,’

Son of man, because that Tyre hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gate of the peoples; she is turned unto me; I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste:

“ Son of man, because Tyre said about Jerusalem,‘ Good! The gateway to the peoples is shattered. She has been turned over to me. I will be filled now that she lies in ruins,’

Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken[ that was] the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished,[ now] she is laid waste:

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said about Jerusalem,‘ Aha, the gateway of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I will become rich, now that she has been destroyed,’

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem,‘ Aha! She is broken! She who was the gateway of the peoples has been returned to me. I will be replenished, now that she is laid waste;’

The burden against Tyre. Wail, you ships of Tarshish! For it is laid waste, So that there is no house, no harbor; From the land of Cyprus it is revealed to them.Be still, you inhabitants of the coastland, You merchants of Sidon, Whom those who cross the sea have filled.And on great waters the grain of Shihor, The harvest of the River, is her revenue; And she is a marketplace for the nations.Be ashamed, O Sidon; For the sea has spoken, The strength of the sea, saying,“ I do not labor, nor bring forth children; Neither do I rear young men, Nor bring up virgins.”When the report reaches Egypt, They also will be in agony at the report of Tyre.Cross over to Tarshish; Wail, you inhabitants of the coastland!Is this your joyous city, Whose antiquity is from ancient days, Whose feet carried her far off to dwell?Who has taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, Whose merchants are princes, Whose traders are the honorable of the earth?The Lord of hosts has purposed it, To bring to dishonor the pride of all glory, To bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.Overflow through your land like the River, O daughter of Tarshish; There is no more strength.He stretched out His hand over the sea, He shook the kingdoms; The Lord has given a commandment against Canaan To destroy its strongholds.And He said,“ You will rejoice no more, O you oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, cross over to Cyprus; There also you will have no rest.”Behold, the land of the Chaldeans, This people which was not; Assyria founded it for wild beasts of the desert. They set up its towers, They raised up its palaces, And brought it to ruin.Wail, you ships of Tarshish! For your strength is laid waste.Now it shall come to pass in that day that Tyre will be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king. At the end of seventy years it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the harlot:“ Take a harp, go about the city, You forgotten harlot; Make sweet melody, sing many songs, That you may be remembered.”And it shall be, at the end of seventy years, that the Lord will deal with Tyre. She will return to her hire, and commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth.Her gain and her pay will be set apart for the Lord; it will not be treasured nor laid up, for her gain will be for those who dwell before the Lord, to eat sufficiently, and for fine clothing.

Thus says the Lord God:“ Because the enemy has said of you,‘ Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession,’”’

“ Indeed, what have you to do with Me, O Tyre and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia? Will you retaliate against Me? But if you retaliate against Me, Swiftly and speedily I will return your retaliation upon your own head;

all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastlands which are across the sea;

To the men of the East I will give it as a possession, together with the Ammonites, that the Ammonites may not be remembered among the nations.

Because of the day that comes to plunder all the Philistines, To cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains; For the Lord shall plunder the Philistines, The remnant of the country of Caphtor.

and send them to the king of Edom, the king of Moab, the king of the Ammonites, the king of Tyre, and the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.

The word of the Lord came again to me, saying,“ Now, son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre,and say to Tyre,‘ You who are situated at the entrance of the sea, merchant of the peoples on many coastlands, thus says the Lord God:“ O Tyre, you have said,‘ I am perfect in beauty.’Your borders are in the midst of the seas. Your builders have perfected your beauty.They made all your planks of fir trees from Senir; They took a cedar from Lebanon to make you a mast.Of oaks from Bashan they made your oars; The company of Ashurites have inlaid your planks With ivory from the coasts of Cyprus.Fine embroidered linen from Egypt was what you spread for your sail; Blue and purple from the coasts of Elishah was what covered you.“ Inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your oarsmen; Your wise men, O Tyre, were in you; They became your pilots.Elders of Gebal and its wise men Were in you to caulk your seams; All the ships of the sea And their oarsmen were in you To market your merchandise.“ Those from Persia, Lydia, and Libya Were in your army as men of war; They hung shield and helmet in you; They gave splendor to you.Men of Arvad with your army were on your walls all around, And the men of Gammad were in your towers; They hung their shields on your walls all around; They made your beauty perfect.“ Tarshish was your merchant because of your many luxury goods. They gave you silver, iron, tin, and lead for your goods.Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders. They bartered human lives and vessels of bronze for your merchandise.Those from the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses, steeds, and mules.The men of Dedan were your traders; many isles were the market of your hand. They brought you ivory tusks and ebony as payment.Syria was your merchant because of the abundance of goods you made. They gave you for your wares emeralds, purple, embroidery, fine linen, corals, and rubies.Judah and the land of Israel were your traders. They traded for your merchandise wheat of Minnith, millet, honey, oil, and balm.Damascus was your merchant because of the abundance of goods you made, because of your many luxury items, with the wine of Helbon and with white wool.Dan and Javan paid for your wares, traversing back and forth. Wrought iron, cassia, and cane were among your merchandise.Dedan was your merchant in saddlecloths for riding.Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were your regular merchants. They traded with you in lambs, rams, and goats.The merchants of Sheba and Raamah were your merchants. They traded for your wares the choicest spices, all kinds of precious stones, and gold.Haran, Canneh, Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Assyria, and Chilmad were your merchants.These were your merchants in choice items— in purple clothes, in embroidered garments, in chests of multicolored apparel, in sturdy woven cords, which were in your marketplace.“ The ships of Tarshish were carriers of your merchandise. You were filled and very glorious in the midst of the seas.Your oarsmen brought you into many waters, But the east wind broke you in the midst of the seas.“ Your riches, wares, and merchandise, Your mariners and pilots, Your caulkers and merchandisers, All your men of war who are in you, And the entire company which is in your midst, Will fall into the midst of the seas on the day of your ruin.The common-land will shake at the sound of the cry of your pilots.

Let them be turned back because of their shame, Who say,“ Aha, aha!”

Also against Hamath, which borders on it, And against Tyre and Sidon, though they are very wise.For Tyre built herself a tower, Heaped up silver like the dust, And gold like the mire of the streets.Behold, the Lord will cast her out; He will destroy her power in the sea, And she will be devoured by fire.

Let them be confounded because of their shame, Who say to me,“ Aha, aha!”

Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters and masons. And they built David a house.

Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;

For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head.They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones.They have said,“ Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, And did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.But I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, Which shall devour its palaces.”

They also opened their mouth wide against me, And said,“ Aha, aha! Our eyes have seen it.”

And the border turned to Ramah and to the fortified city of Tyre; then the border turned to Hosah, and ended at the sea by the region of Achzib.

Against the Ammonites. Thus says the Lord:“ Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then does Milcom inherit Gad, And his people dwell in its cities?

And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another,“ Look, are not all these who speak Galileans?And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

‘ For thus says the Lord God:“ Because you clapped your hands, stamped your feet, and rejoiced in heart with all your disdain for the land of Israel,

“ Son of man, set your face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them.Say to the Ammonites,‘ Hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God:“ Because you said,‘ Aha!’ against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into captivity,

How lonely sits the city That was full of people! How like a widow is she, Who was great among the nations! The princess among the provinces Has become a slave!
