“ Son of man, because Tyre said concerning Jerusalem,‘ Aha, the gate of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste,’

“人子啊，泰尔讥笑耶路撒冷说，‘哈哈！那通往列国的门户已遭破坏，城门向我大开，她已荒凉，我必兴盛。’

“人子啊！因为推罗论到耶路撒冷说：‘哈哈！那万族的门已经破坏了，向我打开了；我必得丰满，她却成了荒场！’

「人子啊，因泰爾向耶路撒冷說：『阿哈，那作眾民之門的已經破壞，向我開放；她既變為荒場，我必豐盛。』

「人子啊，因推羅向耶路撒冷說：『啊哈！那眾民之門已經破壞，向我敞開；它既變為廢墟，我必豐盛。』

「人子啊，泰爾譏笑耶路撒冷說，『哈哈！那通往列國的門戶已遭破壞，城門向我大開，她已荒涼，我必興盛。』

“人子啊！因為推羅論到耶路撒冷說：‘哈哈！那萬族的門已經破壞了，向我打開了；我必得豐滿，她卻成了荒場！’

『人子啊，關於耶路撒冷、推羅既譏笑說：「啊哈！那做列族之民門戶的已經破壞了；她已經轉而屬於我了；我必得豐滿；她卻荒廢了！」

人子歟、推羅人論耶路撒冷曰、嘻嘻、眾民之門已破、皆歸於我、彼既荒涼、我必恢廓、

人子、昔耶路撒冷遭難之日、推羅之人譏之、曰、吁哉、民出入之所、其邑已破、民必歸余、皆屬我矣。

人子、推羅見耶路撒冷遭難、則曰吁哉、列民出入之門已破、今後一切必歸我、彼既荒蕪、我必豐滿、

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said of Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gate to the nations is broken, and its doors have swung open to me; now that she lies in ruins I will prosper,’

“ Son of man, Tyre laughed because of what happened to Jerusalem. The people of Tyre said,‘ Jerusalem is the gateway to the nations. But the gate is broken. Its doors have swung open to us. Jerusalem has been destroyed. So now we will succeed.’ ”

“ Son of man, Tyre has rejoiced over the fall of Jerusalem, saying,‘ Ha! She who was the gateway to the rich trade routes to the east has been broken, and I am the heir! Because she has been made desolate, I will become wealthy!’

“ Son of man, because Tyre said about Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gateway to the peoples is shattered. She has been turned over to me. I will be filled now that she lies in ruins,’

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said in regard to Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gateway of the peoples is broken; it has opened to me. I shall be filled, now that she is laid waste,’

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem,‘ Aha! She is broken who was the gateway of the peoples; now she is turned over to me; I shall be filled; she is laid waste.’

Son of man, because that Tyre hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gate of the peoples; she is turned unto me; I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste:

“ Son of man, because Tyre said about Jerusalem,‘ Good! The gateway to the peoples is shattered. She has been turned over to me. I will be filled now that she lies in ruins,’

Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken[ that was] the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished,[ now] she is laid waste:

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said about Jerusalem,‘ Aha, the gateway of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I will become rich, now that she has been destroyed,’

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem,‘ Aha! She is broken! She who was the gateway of the peoples has been returned to me. I will be replenished, now that she is laid waste;’

The oracle concerning Tyre. Wail, O ships of Tarshish, for Tyre is laid waste, without house or harbor! From the land of Cyprus it is revealed to them.Be still, O inhabitants of the coast; the merchants of Sidon, who cross the sea, have filled you.And on many waters your revenue was the grain of Shihor, the harvest of the Nile; you were the merchant of the nations.Be ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying:“ I have neither labored nor given birth, I have neither reared young men nor brought up young women.”When the report comes to Egypt, they will be in anguish over the report about Tyre.Cross over to Tarshish; wail, O inhabitants of the coast!Is this your exultant city whose origin is from days of old, whose feet carried her to settle far away?Who has purposed this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose merchants were princes, whose traders were the honored of the earth?The Lord of hosts has purposed it, to defile the pompous pride of all glory, to dishonor all the honored of the earth.Cross over your land like the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no restraint anymore.He has stretched out his hand over the sea; he has shaken the kingdoms; the Lord has given command concerning Canaan to destroy its strongholds.And he said:“ You will no more exult, O oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon; arise, cross over to Cyprus, even there you will have no rest.”Behold the land of the Chaldeans! This is the people that was not; Assyria destined it for wild beasts. They erected their siege towers, they stripped her palaces bare, they made her a ruin.Wail, O ships of Tarshish, for your stronghold is laid waste.In that day Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years, like the days of one king. At the end of seventy years, it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the prostitute:“ Take a harp; go about the city, O forgotten prostitute! Make sweet melody; sing many songs, that you may be remembered.”At the end of seventy years, the Lord will visit Tyre, and she will return to her wages and will prostitute herself with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth.Her merchandise and her wages will be holy to the Lord. It will not be stored or hoarded, but her merchandise will supply abundant food and fine clothing for those who dwell before the Lord.

Thus says the Lord God: Because the enemy said of you,‘ Aha!’ and,‘ The ancient heights have become our possession,’

“ What are you to me, O Tyre and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Are you paying me back for something? If you are paying me back, I will return your payment on your own head swiftly and speedily.

all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastland across the sea;

I will give it along with the Ammonites to the people of the East as a possession, that the Ammonites may be remembered no more among the nations,

because of the day that is coming to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper that remains. For the Lord is destroying the Philistines, the remnant of the coastland of Caphtor.

Send word to the king of Edom, the king of Moab, the king of the sons of Ammon, the king of Tyre, and the king of Sidon by the hand of the envoys who have come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.

The word of the Lord came to me:“ Now you, son of man, raise a lamentation over Tyre,and say to Tyre, who dwells at the entrances to the sea, merchant of the peoples to many coastlands, thus says the Lord God:“ O Tyre, you have said,‘ I am perfect in beauty.’Your borders are in the heart of the seas; your builders made perfect your beauty.They made all your planks of fir trees from Senir; they took a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you.Of oaks of Bashan they made your oars; they made your deck of pines from the coasts of Cyprus, inlaid with ivory.Of fine embroidered linen from Egypt was your sail, serving as your banner; blue and purple from the coasts of Elishah was your awning.The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your rowers; your skilled men, O Tyre, were in you; they were your pilots.The elders of Gebal and her skilled men were in you, caulking your seams; all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in you to barter for your wares.“ Persia and Lud and Put were in your army as your men of war. They hung the shield and helmet in you; they gave you splendor.Men of Arvad and Helech were on your walls all around, and men of Gamad were in your towers. They hung their shields on your walls all around; they made perfect your beauty.“ Tarshish did business with you because of your great wealth of every kind; silver, iron, tin, and lead they exchanged for your wares.Javan, Tubal, and Meshech traded with you; they exchanged human beings and vessels of bronze for your merchandise.From Beth-togarmah they exchanged horses, war horses, and mules for your wares.The men of Dedan traded with you. Many coastlands were your own special markets; they brought you in payment ivory tusks and ebony.Syria did business with you because of your abundant goods; they exchanged for your wares emeralds, purple, embroidered work, fine linen, coral, and ruby.Judah and the land of Israel traded with you; they exchanged for your merchandise wheat of Minnith, meal, honey, oil, and balm.Damascus did business with you for your abundant goods, because of your great wealth of every kind; wine of Helbon and wool of Saharand casks of wine from Uzal they exchanged for your wares; wrought iron, cassia, and calamus were bartered for your merchandise.Dedan traded with you in saddlecloths for riding.Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were your favored dealers in lambs, rams, and goats; in these they did business with you.The traders of Sheba and Raamah traded with you; they exchanged for your wares the best of all kinds of spices and all precious stones and gold.Haran, Canneh, Eden, traders of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad traded with you.In your market these traded with you in choice garments, in clothes of blue and embroidered work, and in carpets of colored material, bound with cords and made secure.The ships of Tarshish traveled for you with your merchandise. So you were filled and heavily laden in the heart of the seas.“ Your rowers have brought you out into the high seas. The east wind has wrecked you in the heart of the seas.Your riches, your wares, your merchandise, your mariners and your pilots, your caulkers, your dealers in merchandise, and all your men of war who are in you, with all your crew that is in your midst, sink into the heart of the seas on the day of your fall.At the sound of the cry of your pilots the countryside shakes,

Let them turn back because of their shame who say,“ Aha, Aha!”

and on Hamath also, which borders on it, Tyre and Sidon, though they are very wise.Tyre has built herself a rampart and heaped up silver like dust, and fine gold like the mud of the streets.But behold, the Lord will strip her of her possessions and strike down her power on the sea, and she shall be devoured by fire.

Let those be appalled because of their shame who say to me,“ Aha, Aha!”

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, also carpenters and masons who built David a house.

Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;

For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have raised their heads.They lay crafty plans against your people; they consult together against your treasured ones.They say,“ Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”

Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they delivered up a whole people to Edom, and did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.So I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour her strongholds.”

They open wide their mouths against me; they say,“ Aha, Aha! Our eyes have seen it!”

Then the boundary turns to Ramah, reaching to the fortified city of Tyre. Then the boundary turns to Hosah, and it ends at the sea; Mahalab, Achzib,

Concerning the Ammonites. Thus says the Lord:“ Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then has Milcom dispossessed Gad, and his people settled in its cities?

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven.And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language.And they were amazed and astonished, saying,“ Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome,

For thus says the Lord God: Because you have clapped your hands and stamped your feet and rejoiced with all the malice within your soul against the land of Israel,

“ Son of man, set your face toward the Ammonites and prophesy against them.Say to the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord God: Thus says the Lord God, Because you said,‘ Aha!’ over my sanctuary when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and over the house of Judah when they went into exile,

How lonely sits the city that was full of people! How like a widow has she become, she who was great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces has become a slave.
