Son of man, because that Tyre hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gate of the peoples; she is turned unto me; I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste:

“人子啊，泰尔讥笑耶路撒冷说，‘哈哈！那通往列国的门户已遭破坏，城门向我大开，她已荒凉，我必兴盛。’

“人子啊！因为推罗论到耶路撒冷说：‘哈哈！那万族的门已经破坏了，向我打开了；我必得丰满，她却成了荒场！’

「人子啊，因泰爾向耶路撒冷說：『阿哈，那作眾民之門的已經破壞，向我開放；她既變為荒場，我必豐盛。』

「人子啊，因推羅向耶路撒冷說：『啊哈！那眾民之門已經破壞，向我敞開；它既變為廢墟，我必豐盛。』

「人子啊，泰爾譏笑耶路撒冷說，『哈哈！那通往列國的門戶已遭破壞，城門向我大開，她已荒涼，我必興盛。』

“人子啊！因為推羅論到耶路撒冷說：‘哈哈！那萬族的門已經破壞了，向我打開了；我必得豐滿，她卻成了荒場！’

『人子啊，關於耶路撒冷、推羅既譏笑說：「啊哈！那做列族之民門戶的已經破壞了；她已經轉而屬於我了；我必得豐滿；她卻荒廢了！」

人子歟、推羅人論耶路撒冷曰、嘻嘻、眾民之門已破、皆歸於我、彼既荒涼、我必恢廓、

人子、昔耶路撒冷遭難之日、推羅之人譏之、曰、吁哉、民出入之所、其邑已破、民必歸余、皆屬我矣。

人子、推羅見耶路撒冷遭難、則曰吁哉、列民出入之門已破、今後一切必歸我、彼既荒蕪、我必豐滿、

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said of Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gate to the nations is broken, and its doors have swung open to me; now that she lies in ruins I will prosper,’

“ Son of man, Tyre laughed because of what happened to Jerusalem. The people of Tyre said,‘ Jerusalem is the gateway to the nations. But the gate is broken. Its doors have swung open to us. Jerusalem has been destroyed. So now we will succeed.’ ”

“ Son of man, because Tyre said concerning Jerusalem,‘ Aha, the gate of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste,’

“ Son of man, Tyre has rejoiced over the fall of Jerusalem, saying,‘ Ha! She who was the gateway to the rich trade routes to the east has been broken, and I am the heir! Because she has been made desolate, I will become wealthy!’

“ Son of man, because Tyre said about Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gateway to the peoples is shattered. She has been turned over to me. I will be filled now that she lies in ruins,’

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said in regard to Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gateway of the peoples is broken; it has opened to me. I shall be filled, now that she is laid waste,’

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem,‘ Aha! She is broken who was the gateway of the peoples; now she is turned over to me; I shall be filled; she is laid waste.’

“ Son of man, because Tyre said about Jerusalem,‘ Good! The gateway to the peoples is shattered. She has been turned over to me. I will be filled now that she lies in ruins,’

Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken[ that was] the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished,[ now] she is laid waste:

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said about Jerusalem,‘ Aha, the gateway of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I will become rich, now that she has been destroyed,’

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem,‘ Aha! She is broken! She who was the gateway of the peoples has been returned to me. I will be replenished, now that she is laid waste;’

The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Kittim it is revealed to them.Be still, ye inhabitants of the coast, thou whom the merchants of Sidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.And on great waters the seed of the Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue; and she was the mart of nations.Be thou ashamed, O Sidon; for the sea hath spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying, I have not travailed, nor brought forth, neither have I nourished young men, nor brought up virgins.When the report cometh to Egypt, they shall be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.Pass ye over to Tarshish; wail, ye inhabitants of the coast.Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days, whose feet carried her afar off to sojourn?Who hath purposed this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honorable of the earth?Jehovah of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.Pass through thy land as the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no restraint any more.He hath stretched out his hand over the sea, he hath shaken the kingdoms: Jehovah hath given commandment concerning Canaan, to destroy the strongholds thereof.And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon: arise, pass over to Kittim; even there shalt thou have no rest.Behold, the land of the Chaldeans: this people was not; the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness; they set up their towers; they overthrew the palaces thereof; they made it a ruin.Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for your stronghold is laid waste.And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years it shall be unto Tyre as in the song of the harlot.Take a harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that Jehovah will visit Tyre, and she shall return to her hire, and shall play the harlot with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to Jehovah: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before Jehovah, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are ours in possession;

Yea, and what are ye to me, O Tyre, and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? will ye render me a recompense? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompense upon your own head.

and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;

unto the children of the east, to go against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations:

because of the day that cometh to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper that remaineth: for Jehovah will destroy the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphtor.

and send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers that come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah:

The word of Jehovah came again unto me, saying,And thou, son of man, take up a lamentation over Tyre;and say unto Tyre, O thou that dwellest at the entry of the sea, that art the merchant of the peoples unto many isles, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, O Tyre, hast said, I am perfect in beauty.Thy borders are in the heart of the seas; thy builders have perfected thy beauty.They have made all thy planks of fir- trees from Senir; they have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for thee.Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; they have made thy benches of ivory inlaid in boxwood, from the isles of Kittim.Of fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was thy sail, that it might be to thee for an ensign; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was thine awning.The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were thy rowers: thy wise men, O Tyre, were in thee, they were thy pilots.The old men of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to deal in thy merchandise.Persia and Lud and Put were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and valorous men were in thy towers; they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have perfected thy beauty.Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded for thy wares.Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy traffickers; they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass for thy merchandise.They of the house of Togarmah traded for thy wares with horses and war- horses and mules.The men of Dedan were thy traffickers; many isles were the mart of thy hand: they brought thee in exchange horns of ivory and ebony.Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of thy handiworks: they traded for thy wares with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies.Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy traffickers: they traded for thy merchandise wheat of Minnith, and pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.Damascus was thy merchant for the multitude of thy handiworks, by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches, with the wine of Helbon, and white wool.Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for thy wares: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were among thy merchandise.Dedan was thy trafficker in precious cloths for riding.Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they were the merchants of thy hand; in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these were they thy merchants.The traffickers of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy traffickers; they traded for thy wares with the chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traffickers of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad, were thy traffickers.These were thy traffickers in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.The ships of Tarshish were thy caravans for thy merchandise: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the heart of the seas.Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.Thy riches, and thy wares, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the dealers in thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, with all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy ruin.At the sound of the cry of thy pilots the suburbs shall shake.

Let them be turned back by reason of their shame That say, Aha, aha.

and Hamath, also, which bordereth thereon; Tyre and Sidon, because they are very wise.And Tyre did build herself a stronghold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.Behold, the Lord will dispossess her, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire.

Let them be desolate by reason of their shame That say unto me, Aha, aha.

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar- trees, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre:

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult; And they that hate thee have lifted up the head.They take crafty counsel against thy people, And consult together against thy hidden ones.They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole people to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant.But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me; They said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.

and the border turned to Ramah, and to the fortified city of Tyre; and the border turned to Hosah; and the goings out thereof were at the sea by the region of Achzib;

Of the children of Ammon. Thus saith Jehovah: Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in the cities thereof?

Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.And when this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speaking in his own language.And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying, Behold, are not all these that speak Galilæans?And how hear we, every man in our own language wherein we were born?Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, in Judæa and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Asia,in Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and sojourners from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast clapped thy hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the despite of thy soul against the land of Israel;

Son of man, set thy face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them:and say unto the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:

How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! She is become as a widow, that was great among the nations! She that was a princess among the provinces is become tributary!
