Say to the Ammonites,‘ Hear the word of the sovereign LORD: This is what the sovereign LORD says: You said“ Aha!” about my sanctuary when it was desecrated, about the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and about the house of Judah when they went into exile.

說：你們當聽主耶和華的話。主耶和華如此說：我的聖所被褻瀆，以色列地變荒涼，猶大家被擄掠；那時，你便因這些事說：『阿哈！』

你要對亞捫人說：‘你們要聽主耶和華的話。主耶和華這樣說：我的聖所被褻瀆，以色列地荒涼，猶大家被擄去的時候，你說：“哈哈！”

要對亞捫人說：你們要聽主永恆主的話：主永恆主這麼說：我的聖所被褻瀆，以色列地變成了荒涼，猶大家流亡去：以上每一件事發生時，你既然總說「啊哈！」來譏笑每一件，

曰、爾亞捫族、宜聽主耶和華之言、主耶和華曰、昔我聖所玷污、以色列地荒蕪、猶大家被虜、爾則曰、嘻嘻、

曰、爾亞捫人、宜聽我言、主耶和華曰、昔予之聖所被玷、以色列族荒蕪、猶大家盡被俘囚、爾見之則曰吁哉。

告亞捫人曰、爾曹當聽主天主之言、主天主如是云、昔我聖所被玷、以色列地荒蕪、猶大族被擄、爾見之則曰、吁哉、

Say to them,‘ Hear the word of the Sovereign Lord. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you said“ Aha!” over my sanctuary when it was desecrated and over the land of Israel when it was laid waste and over the people of Judah when they went into exile,

Tell them,‘ Listen to the message of the Lord and King. He says,“ You laughed when my temple was made‘ unclean.’ You also laughed when the land of Israel was completely destroyed. You mocked the people of Judah when they were taken away as prisoners.

Say to the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord God: Thus says the Lord God, Because you said,‘ Aha!’ over my sanctuary when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and over the house of Judah when they went into exile,

Give the Ammonites this message from the Sovereign Lord: Hear the word of the Sovereign Lord! Because you cheered when my Temple was defiled, mocked Israel in her desolation, and laughed at Judah as she went away into exile,

Say to the Ammonites,‘ Hear the word of the Lord GOD: This is what the Lord GOD says: Because you said,“ Aha!” about my sanctuary when it was desecrated, about the land of Israel when it was laid waste, and about the house of Judah when they went into exile,

and say to the sons of Ammon,‘ Hear the word of the Lord God! This is what the Lord God says:“ Because you said,‘ Aha!’ against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into exile,

Say to the Ammonites,‘ Hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God:“ Because you said,‘ Aha!’ against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into captivity,

and say unto the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:

Say to the Ammonites: Hear the word of the Lord God: This is what the Lord God says: Because you said,‘ Good!’ about My sanctuary when it was desecrated, about the land of Israel when it was laid waste, and about the house of Judah when they went into exile,

And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;

Tell the children of Ammon,‘ Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh! The Lord Yahweh says,“ Because you said,‘ Aha!’ against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:

This is what the sovereign LORD says: The enemy has spoken against you, saying“ Aha!” and,“ The ancient heights have become our property!”’

The one who mocks the poor insults his Creator; whoever rejoices over disaster will not go unpunished.

May those who are trying to take my life be embarrassed and ashamed! May those who want to harm me be turned back and ashamed!May those who say,“ Aha! Aha!” be driven back and disgraced!

Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and when he stumbles do not let your heart rejoice,lest the LORD see it, and be displeased, and turn his wrath away from him.

My enemies, do not gloat over me! Though I have fallen, I will get up. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.

For this is what the sovereign LORD says: Because you clapped your hands, stamped your feet, and rejoiced with intense scorn over the land of Israel,

Rejoice and be glad for now, O people of Edom, who reside in the land of Uz. But the cup of judgment will pass to you also; you will get drunk and take off your clothes.ת( Tav)

The young boys and old men lie dead on the ground in the streets. My young women and my young men have fallen by the sword. You killed them when you were angry; you slaughtered them without mercy.ת( Tav)As if it were a feast day, you call enemies to terrify me on every side. On the day of the Lord’s anger no one escaped or survived. My enemy has finished off those healthy infants whom I bore and raised.

“ This is what the sovereign LORD says:‘ Moab and Seir say,“ Look, the house of Judah is like all the other nations.”

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said about Jerusalem,‘ Aha, the gateway of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I will become rich, now that she has been destroyed,’therefore this is what the sovereign LORD says: Look, I am against you, O Tyre! I will bring up many nations against you, as the sea brings up its waves.They will destroy the walls of Tyre and break down her towers. I will scrape her soil from her and make her a bare rock.She will be a place where fishing nets are spread, surrounded by the sea. For I have spoken, declares the sovereign LORD. She will become plunder for the nations,and her daughters who are in the field will be slaughtered by the sword. Then they will know that I am the LORD.“ For this is what the sovereign LORD says: Take note that I am about to bring King Nebuchadrezzar of Babylon, king of kings, against Tyre from the north, with horses, chariots, and horsemen, an army and hordes of people.He will kill your daughters in the field with the sword. He will build a siege wall against you, erect a siege ramp against you, and raise a great shield against you.He will direct the blows of his battering rams against your walls and tear down your towers with his weapons.He will cover you with the dust kicked up by his many horses. Your walls will shake from the noise of the horsemen, wheels, and chariots when he enters your gates like those who invade through a city’s broken walls.With his horses’ hoofs he will trample all your streets. He will kill your people with the sword, and your strong pillars will tumble down to the ground.They will steal your wealth and loot your merchandise. They will tear down your walls and destroy your luxurious homes. Your stones, your trees, and your soil he will throw into the water.I will silence the noise of your songs; the sound of your harps will be heard no more.I will make you a bare rock; you will be a place where fishing nets are spread. You will never be built again, for I, the LORD, have spoken, declares the sovereign LORD.“ This is what the sovereign LORD says to Tyre: Oh, how the coastlands will shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, at the massive slaughter in your midst!All the princes of the sea will vacate their thrones. They will remove their robes and strip off their embroidered clothes; they will clothe themselves with trembling. They will sit on the ground; they will tremble continually and be shocked at what has happened to you.They will sing this lament over you:“‘ How you have perished– you have vanished from the seas, O renowned city, once mighty in the sea, she and her inhabitants, who spread their terror!Now the coastlands will tremble on the day of your fall; the coastlands by the sea will be terrified by your passing.’“ For this is what the sovereign LORD says: When I make you desolate like the uninhabited cities, when I bring up the deep over you and the surging waters overwhelm you,then I will bring you down to bygone people, to be with those who descend to the pit. I will make you live in the lower parts of the earth, among the primeval ruins, with those who descend to the pit, so that you will not be inhabited or stand in the land of the living.I will bring terrors on you, and you will be no more! Though you are sought after, you will never be found again, declares the sovereign LORD.”

“‘ You said,“ These two nations, these two lands will be mine, and we will possess them,”– although the LORD was there–therefore, as surely as I live, declares the sovereign LORD, I will deal with you according to your anger, and according to your envy, by which you acted spitefully against them. I will reveal myself to them when I judge you.Then you will know that I, the LORD, have heard all the insults you spoke against the mountains of Israel, saying,“ They are desolate, they have been given to us for food.”You exalted yourselves against me with your speech and hurled many insults against me– I have heard them all!This is what the sovereign LORD says: While the whole earth rejoices, I will turn you into a desolation.As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so will I deal with you– you will be desolate, Mount Seir, and all of Edom– all of it! Then they will know that I am the LORD.’”
