我必將我報復以東的事交於我人民以色列手中；以色列民必照我的怒氣我的烈怒去向以東施行；以東人就認識我的報復的作為：這是主永恆主發神諭說的。

假我民以色列之手、依我烈怒大忿、行報復於以東、使知我之報復、主耶和華言之矣、○

我震怒以東、必使我民以色列族、侵伐其土地、以雪我忿、使知我實降是災、我耶和華已言之矣。

我必藉我民以色列之手、復報以東人、彼必循我之盛忿烈怒、行刑在以東、使以東人知我如何加報、此乃主天主所言、○

I will take vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they will deal with Edom in accordance with my anger and my wrath; they will know my vengeance, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

I will use my people Israel to pay Edom back. They will punish Edom because my anger against it is great. They will know how I pay back my enemies,” announces the Lord and King.

And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath, and they shall know my vengeance, declares the Lord God.

I will accomplish this by the hand of my people of Israel. They will carry out my vengeance with anger, and Edom will know that this vengeance is from me. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!

耶和華是痛恨不貞、施行報應的上帝。耶和華施行報應，充滿烈怒。耶和華報應祂的仇敵，向他們發烈怒。耶和華不輕易發怒，有偉大的能力。耶和華斷不以有罪的為無罪。祂行走在旋風和暴風中，雲彩是祂腳下的塵土。祂斥責大海，使大海乾涸；祂使一切河流枯竭。巴珊和迦密的草木凋零，黎巴嫩的鮮花衰殘。

耶和華說：「看啊，時候將到，我要使亞捫人的拉巴城外響起戰爭的呐喊。拉巴必淪為廢墟，它周圍的鄉村都要被焚燒，以色列人必收復失地。這是耶和華說的。

伸冤在我，我必報應，到時候他們必站不住腳，他們遭禍的日子近了，他們的末日來了。』「耶和華見自己的子民力量衰竭，奴隸和自由人所剩無幾，必為他們主持公道，憐憫祂的僕人。

他們哀求群山和岩石，說：「倒下來遮蓋我們，將我們藏起來吧！我們不敢面對寶座上的那位和羔羊的烈怒啊！因為祂們發烈怒的大日子到了，誰能站得住呢？」

這位身披紅衣、穿著華麗、充滿力量、從以東的波斯拉闊步而來的是誰呢？「是宣告公義、有拯救大能的我。」你的衣服為何是紅色的，好像榨酒池中踩踏葡萄者的衣服？「我獨自在榨酒池踩踏，萬民中無人跟我在一起。我在憤怒中踩踏他們，在烈怒中踐踏他們；他們的血濺到我的衣服上，染紅了我的衣服。我心中定了報仇的日子，我救贖我子民之年已經來臨。我環顧四周，驚訝地看見無人幫助，無人扶持。於是，在烈怒的推動下，我用臂膀獨自拯救。我在憤怒中踐踏萬民，讓他們飽嚐我的烈怒，把他們的血倒在地上。」

所以主耶和華說，我憑我的永恆起誓，你憎恨他們，滿腹怒氣和嫉妒，我也必這樣對待你。我審判你的時候，以色列人就會認識我。

義人必因惡人遭報而歡欣，並用惡人的血洗腳。這樣，人們必說：「義人終有善報，確實有一位審判天下的上帝。」

我們知道上帝說過：「伸冤在我，我必報應。」祂又說：「主要審判祂的百姓。」落在永活上帝的手中是可怕的！
