“‘ Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:“ Woe to the bloody city, to the cauldron whose rust is in it, and whose rust hasn’t gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece. No lot is fallen on it.

主耶和華曰、禍哉血邑、生銹之鼎、厥誘未去、其中之肉、逐一取出、毋庸掣籤得之、

主耶和華曰、斯邑之民、殺人無度、禍必不遠、可比沸鼎、其銹常在、不為洗滌、鼎中數方之肉、取之以出、毋庸遴選。

主天主如是云、斯邑有殺人流血之事、禍必臨之、可比有銹之釜、銹未除於其中、當以肉塊、一一取於其中、不庸掣籤以選、

“‘ For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“‘ Woe to the city of bloodshed, to the pot now encrusted, whose deposit will not go away! Take the meat out piece by piece in whatever order it comes.

The Lord and King says,“ How terrible it will be for this city! It has so many murderers in it. How terrible for the pot that is coated with scum! The scum on it will not go away. Take the meat out of the pot piece by piece. Take it out in whatever order it comes.

“ Therefore thus says the Lord God: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose corrosion is in it, and whose corrosion has not gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece, without making any choice.

“ Now this is what the Sovereign Lord says: What sorrow awaits Jerusalem, the city of murderers! She is a cooking pot whose corruption can’t be cleaned out. Take the meat out in random order, for no piece is better than another.

“‘ Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Woe to the city of bloodshed, the pot that has corrosion inside it, and its corrosion has not come out of it! Empty it piece by piece; lots should not be cast for its contents.

‘ Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:“ Woe to the bloody city, To the pot in which there is rust And whose rust has not gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece, Without making a choice.

‘ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ Woe to the bloody city, To the pot whose scum is in it, And whose scum is not gone from it! Bring it out piece by piece, On which no lot has fallen.

Wherefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city, to the caldron whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! take out of it piece after piece; No lot is fallen upon it.

Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: Woe to the city of bloodshed, the pot that has rust inside it, and whose rust will not come off! Empty it piece by piece; lots should not be cast for its contents.

“‘ Therefore this is what the sovereign LORD says: Woe to the city of bloodshed, the pot whose rot is in it, whose rot has not been removed from it! Empty it piece by piece. No lot has fallen on it.

“ You, son of man, will you judge? Will you judge the bloody city? Then cause her to know all her abominations.

Woe to the bloody city! It is all full of lies and robbery. The prey doesn’t depart.

The godly man has perished out of the earth, and there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; every man hunts his brother with a net.

Yet was she carried away. She went into captivity. Her young children also were dashed in pieces at the head of all the streets, and they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

Her princes within it are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.

and also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Yahweh would not pardon.

In the day that you stood on the other side, in the day that strangers carried away his substance, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots for Jerusalem, even you were like one of them.

Then Joshua said,“ Open the cave entrance, and bring those five kings out of the cave to me.”

You have multiplied your slain in this city, and you have filled its streets with the slain.“‘ Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:“ Your slain whom you have laid in the middle of it, they are the meat, and this is the cauldron; but you will be brought out of the middle of it.You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you,” says the Lord Yahweh.“ I will bring you out of the middle of it, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

This will not be your cauldron, neither will you be the meat in the middle of it. I will judge you in the border of Israel.

I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.

Then set it empty on its coals, that it may be hot, and its bronze may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, that its rust may be consumed.She is weary with toil; yet her great rust, rust by fire, doesn’t leave her.“‘“ In your filthiness is lewdness. Because I have cleansed you and you weren’t cleansed, you won’t be cleansed from your filthiness any more, until I have caused my wrath toward you to rest.

With men of the common sort were brought drunkards from the wilderness; and they put bracelets on their hands, and beautiful crowns on their heads.Then I said of her who was old in adulteries,‘ Now they will play the prostitute with her, and she with them.’They went in to her, as they go in to a prostitute. So they went in to Oholah and to Oholibah, the lewd women.Righteous men will judge them with the judgment of adulteresses and with the judgment of women who shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.

In you have they taken bribes to shed blood. You have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by oppression, and have forgotten me,” says the Lord Yahweh.

that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar.

So Joshua rose up early in the morning and brought Israel near by their tribes. The tribe of Judah was selected.He brought near the family of Judah, and he selected the family of the Zerahites. He brought near the family of the Zerahites man by man, and Zabdi was selected.He brought near his household man by man, and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was selected.

“‘“ Behold, the princes of Israel, everyone according to his power, have been in you to shed blood.In you have they treated father and mother with contempt. Among you they have oppressed the foreigner. In you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow.You have despised my holy things, and have profaned my Sabbaths.Slanderous men have been in you to shed blood. In you they have eaten on the mountains. They have committed lewdness among you.

In her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on the earth.”

He struck Moab, and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. The Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.

The bellows blow fiercely. The lead is consumed in the fire. In vain they go on refining, for the wicked are not plucked away.

Then he said to all Israel,“ You be on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side.” The people said to Saul,“ Do what seems good to you.”Therefore Saul said to Yahweh, the God of Israel,“ Show the right.” Jonathan and Saul were chosen, but the people escaped.Saul said,“ Cast lots between me and Jonathan my son.” Jonathan was selected.
