Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum[ is] therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.

『因此主永恆主這麼說：有禍啊這流人血的城，這有垢渣在裏面的鍋！其垢渣從未刮出；須要一塊一塊取出來；不必拈鬮挑選。

主耶和華曰、禍哉血邑、生銹之鼎、厥誘未去、其中之肉、逐一取出、毋庸掣籤得之、

主耶和華曰、斯邑之民、殺人無度、禍必不遠、可比沸鼎、其銹常在、不為洗滌、鼎中數方之肉、取之以出、毋庸遴選。

主天主如是云、斯邑有殺人流血之事、禍必臨之、可比有銹之釜、銹未除於其中、當以肉塊、一一取於其中、不庸掣籤以選、

“‘ For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“‘ Woe to the city of bloodshed, to the pot now encrusted, whose deposit will not go away! Take the meat out piece by piece in whatever order it comes.

The Lord and King says,“ How terrible it will be for this city! It has so many murderers in it. How terrible for the pot that is coated with scum! The scum on it will not go away. Take the meat out of the pot piece by piece. Take it out in whatever order it comes.

“ Therefore thus says the Lord God: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose corrosion is in it, and whose corrosion has not gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece, without making any choice.

“ Now this is what the Sovereign Lord says: What sorrow awaits Jerusalem, the city of murderers! She is a cooking pot whose corruption can’t be cleaned out. Take the meat out in random order, for no piece is better than another.

“‘ Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Woe to the city of bloodshed, the pot that has corrosion inside it, and its corrosion has not come out of it! Empty it piece by piece; lots should not be cast for its contents.

‘ Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:“ Woe to the bloody city, To the pot in which there is rust And whose rust has not gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece, Without making a choice.

‘ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ Woe to the bloody city, To the pot whose scum is in it, And whose scum is not gone from it! Bring it out piece by piece, On which no lot has fallen.

Wherefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city, to the caldron whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! take out of it piece after piece; No lot is fallen upon it.

Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: Woe to the city of bloodshed, the pot that has rust inside it, and whose rust will not come off! Empty it piece by piece; lots should not be cast for its contents.

“‘ Therefore this is what the sovereign LORD says: Woe to the city of bloodshed, the pot whose rot is in it, whose rot has not been removed from it! Empty it piece by piece. No lot has fallen on it.

“‘ Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:“ Woe to the bloody city, to the cauldron whose rust is in it, and whose rust hasn’t gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece. No lot is fallen on it.

Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.

Woe to the bloody city! it[ is] all full of lies[ and] robbery; the prey departeth not;

The good[ man] is perished out of the earth: and[ there is] none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.

Yet[ was] she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

Her princes in the midst thereof[ are] like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood,[ and] to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.

And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.

In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou[ wast] as one of them.

Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave.

And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil[ is] upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.

And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:Slay utterly old[ and] young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom[ is] the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which[ were] before the house.

Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they[ are] the flesh, and this[ city is] the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD.And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

This[ city] shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof;[ but] I will judge you in the border of Israel:

And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and[ that] the filthiness of it may be molten in it,[ that] the scum of it may be consumed.She hath wearied[ herself] with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum[ shall be] in the fire.In thy filthiness[ is] lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.

That they have committed adultery, and blood[ is] in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through[ the fire], to devour[ them].Moreover this they have done unto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus have they done in the midst of mine house.And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far, unto whom a messenger[ was] sent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, paintedst thy eyes, and deckedst thyself with ornaments,And satest upon a stately bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon thou hast set mine incense and mine oil.And a voice of a multitude being at ease[ was] with her: and with the men of the common sort[ were] brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.Then said I unto[ her that was] old in adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms with her, and she[ with them]?Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women.And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they[ are] adulteresses, and blood[ is] in their hands.

In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.

That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken:And he brought the family of Judah; and he took the family of the Zarhites: and he brought the family of the Zarhites man by man; and Zabdi was taken:And he brought his household man by man; and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.

Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.

And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.

Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing[ that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD.

And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.And their dead bodies[ shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.

And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And[ so] the Moabites became David’s servants,[ and] brought gifts.

The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.

Then said he unto all Israel, Be ye on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side. And the people said unto Saul, Do what seemeth good unto thee.Therefore Saul said unto the LORD God of Israel, Give a perfect[ lot]. And Saul and Jonathan were taken: but the people escaped.And Saul said, Cast[ lots] between me and Jonathan my son. And Jonathan was taken.
