為死者毋揚爾聲、毋露爾首、毋去爾履、毋掩爾口、毋食苦餅。

惟可暗中歎息、為死者勿哀喪、首仍戴冠、足仍著履、毋掩爾口、勿食人為喪事所供之食物、

他们必不得向耶和华献浇酒祭，所献的祭也不蒙悦纳。他们的祭物如居丧者的食物，凡吃的必使自己玷污；因为他们的食物只为自己的口腹，必不得入耶和华的殿。

大卫蒙头赤脚走上橄榄山的斜坡，一面上一面哭。所有跟随他的百姓也都各自蒙头哭着上去；

摩西对亚伦和他儿子以利亚撒和以他玛说：“不可蓬头散发，也不可撕裂衣服，免得你们死亡，免得耶和华向全会众发怒。但你们的弟兄以色列全家却要为耶和华发出的火哀哭。

“在弟兄中作大祭司的，头上倒了膏油，承接圣职，穿了圣衣，不可蓬头散发，也不可撕裂衣服；

我保持沉默，闭口不言，因为这一切都是你所做的。

先见必抱愧，占卜的必蒙羞，他们全都捂着胡须，因为上帝不应允他们。

你当安心倚靠耶和华，耐性等候他，不要因那道路通达的和那恶谋成就的心怀不平。

“患有麻风灾病的人，他的衣服要撕裂，也要蓬头散发，遮住上唇，喊着说：‘不洁净！不洁净！’

他们必死于致命的疾病，无人哀哭，不得埋葬，在地上如粪土，因刀剑和饥荒而灭绝；他们的尸首必给空中的飞鸟和地上的走兽作食物。“耶和华如此说：不要进入丧家，不要去哀哭，也不要为他们悲伤，因我已使我的平安、慈爱、怜悯离开这百姓。这是耶和华说的。他们连大带小，都必在这地死亡，不得埋葬。人必不为他们哀哭，不为他们割划自己，也不剃光头。有丧事，人不为他们擘饼，也不因死人安慰他们；他们丧父丧母，人也不给他们一杯酒安慰他们。

那日，宫殿里的诗歌要变为哀号；必有许多尸首抛在各处，安静无声。”这是主耶和华说的。

那时，你们要照我所做的去做。你们不可捂着胡须，也不可吃一般人的食物。你们头要裹上头巾，脚要穿上鞋；不可悲哀哭泣。你们必因自己的罪孽衰残，相对叹息。

你们要休息，要知道我是上帝！我必在列国中受尊崇，在全地也受尊崇。

惟耶和华在他的圣殿中，全地都当在他面前肃静。
