Then set the empty pot on the coals till it becomes hot and its copper glows, so that its impurities may be melted and its deposit burned away.

耶和華又曰、斯邑也、我必降以禍災、不錫以福祉、付之於巴比倫王手、使之焚燬。

萬有之主耶和華曰、降災之日伊邇、必爇若爐、驕侈之輩、作惡之流、有若蒭蕘、屆期必燬之、使其根株、靡有孑遺、

王宮民室、悉為迦勒底人所燬、墮耶路撒冷城垣。

其手執箕、盡簸厥禾場、斂穀入倉、而燒糠以不滅之火、○

攻陷斯邑而燬之、昔斯邑之民、曾在樓巔焚香、以奉巴力、灌奠以事他上帝、干我震怒、故火焚其樓。

當斯之時、必濬泉源、使大闢家耶路撒冷民得以滌其前非、去其舊污、萬有之主耶和華曰、當是日我必棄偶像於斯土、使人頓忘其名、亦必使感邪神之先知、驅逐於斯、

又將褫爾衣裳、攘爾珍寶、使爾不犯淫行、不復戀亞述人、不再蹈埃及前愆、

如有人以金銀寶石、草木禾稿建於基上、其工必顯、蓋日至、將以火煉百工、而明辨之、

浸假攻爾之迦勒底人、為爾所擊、其軍中惟遺被傷之卒、偃於幕下、亦能起、燬斯邑。

我必散爾於列邦異族中、使爾不復淫亂。爾既罹慘報、為異邦人目睹、則必知我乃耶和華。耶和華諭我曰、人子、我視以色列族若渣滓、彼在爐中、若銅鐵錫鉛焉、亦與銀之渣滓無異。主耶和華曰、因爾無異渣滓、故必使爾入耶路撒冷城、集於一處、猶聚銀與銅鐵鉛錫於爐、鼓紅燄以鎔之、我怒憤烈、亦必集爾於邑中、鎔爾務盡。我必集爾、張我之怒、鼓我之氣、鎔爾於邑中、猶鎔銀於爐中、使知我乃耶和華、震怒爾曹。

以清水灑爾、使爾為潔、凡拜偶像行淫穢之事、均滌除焉。

輔翼我民、鍛鍊若金、消融渣滓。

凡違逆我者、必出乎爾中、去其所旅之邦、不得歸以色列地、使知我乃耶和華。

不然迦勒底人必焚此城、爾亦不能脫於其手。

擊之以石、殺之以刃、戮其子女、焚其宅第、使斯土之人不染淫風、俾眾女不效爾尤、

若此則雅各之罪、可以滌除、其惡亦堪洗濯、毀祭臺之石、使之成灰、木偶日像、不復樹立、

於是郇山之室、民會之處、榮光焜耀、耶和華必加護衛、晝蔽以雲、夜燭以火、

燬耶和華殿、王宮宦第、及耶路撒冷民室、

墮爾城垣、凡爾中之巫覡術數者、必誅戮無遺、斫爾偶像、使爾於人手所作之物、不復崇拜焉、伐爾林木、毀爾城邑、

耶和華曰、斯土眾庶、三分之二、必遭殞亡、三分之一、猶可得生、我將使三分之一、若投於烈焰之中、煉之若銀、試之若金、彼籲於上、而我垂聽、稱彼為我民、彼必曰、耶和華乃我上帝。
