Then set the empty pot on the coals till it becomes hot and its copper glows, so that its impurities may be melted and its deposit burned away.

“到那天，必为大卫家和耶路撒冷的居民开一个泉源，洗净他们的罪恶和污秽。“到那天，我必铲除地上偶像的名号，使它们被人遗忘；我必除去地上的假先知和污秽的灵。这是万军之耶和华说的。

他们要剥下你的衣服，夺去你的珠宝。我要借此制止你从埃及染上的淫乱和放荡，使你不再向往埃及。

人们用金、银、宝石、草、木或禾秸在这根基上建造，每个人的工程将来都会显明出来，因为到了审判的日子，必用火试验各人工程的品质。

即使你们能打败迦勒底全军，他们营中受伤的残兵也必起来烧毁这城。’”

我要把你驱散到列国，分散到列邦，我要除掉你的污秽。你必在列国面前受凌辱，你便知道我是耶和华。’”耶和华对我说：“人子啊，在我看来，以色列人已经变成了渣滓。他们是炉中的铜、锡、铁、铅，都是银渣滓。所以主耶和华说，‘你们既是渣滓，我要把你们聚集在耶路撒冷城。我要在烈怒中把你们聚集在城里熔化，就像人把银、铜、铁、铅、锡聚在高温的炉中熔化一样。我要聚集你们，把我的怒火倒在你们身上，熔化你们。你们要在城中熔化，就像银在炼炉中熔化。你们就知道我耶和华已将我的烈怒倾倒在你们身上。’”耶和华对我说：

我要在你们身上洒清水洁净你们，洗净你们所有的污秽，除掉你们心中一切的偶像。

我必攻击你，用碱炼净你的渣滓，除尽你的杂质。

我要铲除你们中间叛逆和犯罪的人。虽然我要领他们离开寄居之地，他们却不能回以色列。这样，你们就知道我是耶和华。’

但如果你不出去向巴比伦王的将领投降，这城必落在迦勒底人手里，被付之一炬，你也逃不掉。’”

这些人要用石头打死她们，用刀杀戮她们和她们的儿女，用火烧毁她们的房屋。这样，我便制止了这地方的淫乱，所有的妇女都引以为戒，不敢效法她们。

借此，雅各家的罪恶必得到赦免，他们罪恶被除掉后所结的果实是：打碎假神祭坛的石头，推倒亚舍拉神像和香坛。

放火焚烧耶和华的殿、王宫及城内所有的房屋。他烧毁了所有重要建筑。

我要摧毁你们境内的城邑，拆除你们所有的堡垒。我要除掉你们手中的巫术，使你们那里不再有占卜的。我要从你们中间除去雕刻的神像和神柱，使你们不再跪拜自己所造的。我要从你们中间铲除亚舍拉神像，毁灭你们的偶像。

地上三分之二的人必遭铲除、毁灭，只剩下三分之一的人存活。这是耶和华说的。我必使这三分之一的人受到火一般的考验；我必像熬炼银子一样熬炼他们，像试炼金子一样试炼他们。他们必呼求我的名，我必回应他们。我必说，‘这是我的子民。’他们必说，‘耶和华是我们的上帝。’”
