「『後來我又從你旁邊經過，見你正值少女懷春，我便用衣襟遮蓋你的身體，向你起誓，與你定下婚約，你便屬於我。這是主耶和華說的。

他心想：「國權恐怕會重歸大衛家。若百姓去耶路撒冷，在耶和華的殿獻祭，他們的心必重新歸向他們的主——猶大王羅波安。他們會殺了我，然後投奔猶大王羅波安。」他徵詢臣僚的意見後，就鑄造了兩個金牛犢，對民眾說：「以色列人啊，你們上耶路撒冷敬拜太麻煩了。這兩個金牛犢就是領你們出埃及的神明。」他把一個金牛犢安置在伯特利，另一個安置在但。這使民眾陷入罪中，因為他們開始到但去拜金牛犢。耶羅波安又在高崗上修建神廟，任命各樣的人做祭司，他們並非利未人。耶羅波安規定每年八月十五日為節期，好像猶大的節期一樣。他自己在伯特利的祭壇上向金牛犢獻祭燒香，又派神廟的祭司在獻祭中司職。在八月十五日，就是他私自為以色列人定為節期的日子，他在伯特利的祭壇上燒香。

以色列人聽說耶羅波安回來了，就請他到會眾面前，擁立他做以色列人的王。只有猶大支派仍然效忠大衛家。

祂的家在耶路撒冷，祂的居所在錫安山。

願你晝夜看顧這殿——你應許立你名的地方！你僕人向著這地方禱告的時候，求你垂聽。

你還把你給我生的兒女燒作燔祭獻給偶像。難道你淫亂還不夠嗎？

「你去告訴耶路撒冷人，『耶和華說，我記得你們年輕時對我充滿熱情，愛我如新娘愛新郎，跟隨我穿越曠野，穿越不毛之地。以色列是耶和華的聖民，是屬於祂的初熟果子。吞吃它的必擔當罪責，大禍臨頭。這是耶和華說的。』」

王喜歡你的美貌，你要敬重他，因他是你的主。泰爾人必來送禮，富人必來取悅你。公主身穿金線衣，無比華貴。她身披錦繡，由侍女伴隨前來見王，她們歡喜快樂地進入王宮。你的子孫將來要繼承祖先的王位，你要立他們在各地做王。

他們要聚眾攻擊你，用石頭打你，用刀劍砍碎你，

我的弟兄姊妹，同樣，你們藉著基督的身體向著律法也死了，使你們可以歸於那位從死裡復活的基督，好為上帝結果子。
