“ Thus says the Lord GOD:‘ You shall drink of your sister’s cup, The deep and wide one; You shall be laughed to scorn And held in derision; It contains much.

主耶和华如此说：“你必喝你姐姐所喝的杯；那杯又深又广，盛得甚多，使你被人嗤笑讥刺。

“主耶和华说，“‘你必喝你姐姐那又大又深的杯，成为人们耻笑和辱骂的对象。

主耶和华这样说：你必喝你姊姊所喝的杯，那杯又深又阔，容量甚大，必使你成为嗤笑和讥讽的对象。

主耶和華如此說：你必喝你姊姊所喝的杯；那杯又深又廣，盛得甚多，使你被人嗤笑譏刺。

主耶和華如此說：「你必喝你姊姊的杯，那杯又深又廣，盛得很多，使你遭受嗤笑譏刺。

主耶和華這樣說：你必喝你姊姊所喝的杯，那杯又深又闊，容量甚大，必使你成為嗤笑和譏諷的對象。

主永恆主這麼說：『你必喝你姐姐所喝的杯；那又深又廣闊，盛得很多的杯；你必成了給人笑話而嗤笑的對象。

主耶和華曰、爾姊之爵、既深且巨、所盛既多、爾必飲之、為人輕慢姍笑、

主耶和華曰、爾姊之爵、既巨且深、多盛酖酒、爾必飲之、為人姍笑、

主天主如是云、爾必飲爾姊所飲之杯、其杯又深又廣、且所盛者甚多、使爾被人訕笑譏刺已極、

“ This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ You will drink your sister’s cup, a cup large and deep; it will bring scorn and derision, for it holds so much.

The Lord and King says to Oholibah,“ You will drink from your sister’s cup. It is large and deep. It is filled with the wine of my anger. So others will laugh at you. They will make fun of you.

Thus says the Lord God:“ You shall drink your sister’s cup that is deep and large; you shall be laughed at and held in derision, for it contains much;

“ Yes, this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ You will drink from your sister’s cup of terror, a cup that is large and deep. It is filled to the brim with scorn and derision.

This is what the Lord GOD says:“ You will drink your sister’s cup, which is deep and wide. You will be an object of ridicule and scorn, for it holds so much.

This is what the Lord God says:‘ You will drink your sister’s cup, Which is deep and wide. You will be laughed at and held in derision; Because it contains much.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou shalt drink of thy sister’s cup, which is deep and large; thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much.

This is what the Lord God says: You will drink your sister’s cup, which is deep and wide. You will be an object of ridicule and scorn, for it holds so much.

Awake, awake! Stand up, O Jerusalem, You who have drunk at the hand of the Lord The cup of His fury; You have drunk the dregs of the cup of trembling, And drained it out.

You have shown Your people hard things; You have made us drink the wine of confusion.

You have become guilty by the blood which you have shed, and have defiled yourself with the idols which you have made. You have caused your days to draw near, and have come to the end of your years; therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mockery to all countries.Those near and those far from you will mock you as infamous and full of tumult.

And you shall become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword among all nations where the Lord will drive you.

‘ For thus says the Lord God:“ Because you clapped your hands, stamped your feet, and rejoiced in heart with all your disdain for the land of Israel,

But Jesus answered and said,“ You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to Him,“ We are able.”So He said to them,“ You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father.”

therefore prophesy, and say,‘ Thus says the Lord GOD:“ Because they made you desolate and swallowed you up on every side, so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations, and you are taken up by the lips of talkers and slandered by the people”—

Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her.

then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them; and this house which I have consecrated for My name I will cast out of My sight. Israel will be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,’ says the Lord,‘ and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land, against its inhabitants, and against these nations all around, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, a hissing, and perpetual desolations.

“ Make him drunk, Because he exalted himself against the Lord. Moab shall wallow in his vomit, And he shall also be in derision.

Their blood they have shed like water all around Jerusalem, And there was no one to bury them.

All who pass by clap their hands at you; They hiss and shake their heads At the daughter of Jerusalem:“ Is this the city that is called‘ The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth’?”All your enemies have opened their mouth against you; They hiss and gnash their teeth. They say,“ We have swallowed her up! Surely this is the day we have waited for; We have found it, we have seen it!”

Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, The Lord will be a light to me.

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem,‘ Aha! She is broken who was the gateway of the peoples; now she is turned over to me; I shall be filled; she is laid waste.’

For thus says the Lord God of Israel to me:“ Take this wine cup of fury from My hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.And they will drink and stagger and go mad because of the sword that I will send among them.”Then I took the cup from the LORD’s hand, and made all the nations drink, to whom the Lord had sent me:Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is this day;Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his princes, and all his people;all the mixed multitude, all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the land of the Philistines( namely, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod);Edom, Moab, and the people of Ammon;all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastlands which are across the sea;Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who are in the farthest corners;all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the mixed multitude who dwell in the desert;all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world which are on the face of the earth. Also the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.“ Therefore you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:“ Drink, be drunk, and vomit! Fall and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”’And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ You shall certainly drink!

As you rejoiced because the inheritance of the house of Israel was desolate, so I will do to you; you shall be desolate, O Mount Seir, as well as all of Edom— all of it! Then they shall know that I am the Lord.”’
