那脫離刀劍的人必在所擄到的各國中記念我，為他們心中何等傷破，是因他們起淫心，遠離我，眼對偶像行邪淫。他們因行一切可憎的惡事，必厭惡自己。

你就對他們說：『耶和華說：因為你們列祖離棄我，隨從別神，事奉敬拜，不遵守我的律法，而且你們行惡比你們列祖更甚；因為各人隨從自己頑梗的惡心行事，甚至不聽從我，

阿荷拉就與亞述人中最美的男子放縱淫行，她因所戀愛之人的一切偶像，玷污自己。

她貪戀鄰邦的亞述人，就是穿極華美的衣服，騎着馬的省長、副省長，都是可愛的少年人。我看見她被玷污了，她姊妹二人同行一路。阿荷利巴又加增淫行，因她看見人像畫在牆上，就是用丹色所畫迦勒底人的像，腰間繫着帶子，頭上有下垂的裹頭巾，都是軍長的形狀，仿照巴比倫人的形像；他們的故土就是迦勒底。阿荷利巴一看見就貪戀他們，打發使者往迦勒底去見他們。巴比倫人就來登她愛情的牀，與她行淫玷污她。她被玷污，隨後心裏與他們生疏。這樣，她顯露淫行，又顯露下體；我心就與她生疏，像先前與她姊姊生疏一樣。她還加增她的淫行，追念她幼年在埃及地行邪淫的日子，貪戀情人身壯精足，如驢如馬。這樣，你就想起你幼年的淫行。那時，埃及人擁抱你的懷，撫摸你的乳。」

反與他們混雜相合，學習他們的行為，事奉他們的偶像，這就成了自己的網羅，把自己的兒女祭祀鬼魔，流無辜人的血，就是自己兒女的血，把他們祭祀迦南的偶像，那地就被血污穢了。

「許多國的民要經過這城，各人對鄰舍說：『耶和華為何向這大城如此行呢？』他們必回答說：『是因離棄了耶和華－他們神的約，事奉敬拜別神。』」

現今你為何在埃及路上要喝西曷的水呢？你為何在亞述路上要喝大河的水呢？你自己的惡必懲治你；你背道的事必責備你。由此可知可見，你離棄耶和華－你的神，不存敬畏我的心，乃為惡事，為苦事。這是主－萬軍之耶和華說的。我在古時折斷你的軛，解開你的繩索。你說：我必不事奉耶和華；因為你在各高岡上、各青翠樹下屈身行淫。
