I saw that she too defiled herself; both of them went the same way.

I saw that she too made herself impure. So both sisters did the same evil things.

Therefore, the LORD was very angry with Israel, and he removed them from his presence. Only the tribe of Judah remained.Even Judah did not keep the commands of the LORD their God but lived according to the customs Israel had practiced.

Ephraim chases the wind and pursues the east wind. He continually multiplies lies and violence. He makes a covenant with Assyria, and olive oil is carried to Egypt.The LORD also has a dispute with Judah. He is about to punish Jacob according to his conduct; he will repay him based on his actions.
