厥妹阿荷利巴見此、狥欲過於其姊、行淫較之尤甚、

厥妹亞何利巴見此、則狥欲行淫、較姊尤甚。

其妹阿荷利巴見此、乃縱淫慾、過於其姊、行淫亂較姊尤甚、

“ Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet in her lust and prostitution she was more depraved than her sister.

“ Her sister Oholibah saw it. But her evil desire for sexual sin was worse than her sister’s.

“ Her sister Oholibah saw this, and she became more corrupt than her sister in her lust and in her whoring, which was worse than that of her sister.

“ Yet even though Oholibah saw what had happened to Oholah, her sister, she followed right in her footsteps. And she was even more depraved, abandoning herself to her lust and prostitution.

“ Now her sister Oholibah saw this, yet she was more corrupt in her lust than she, and her obscene practices were more than the prostitution of her sister.

“ Now although her sister Oholibah saw this, she became more corrupt in her lust than she, and in her harlotry more corrupt than her sister’s harlotry.

And her sister Oholibah saw this, yet was she more corrupt in her doting than she, and in her whoredoms which were more than the whoredoms of her sister.

“ Now her sister Oholibah saw this, but she was even more depraved in her lust than Oholah, and made her promiscuous acts worse than those of her sister.

And when her sister Aholibah saw[ this], she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in[ her] whoredoms.

“ Her sister Oholibah watched this, but she became more corrupt in her lust than her sister had been, and her acts of prostitution were more numerous than those of her sister.

“ Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet she was more corrupt in her lusting than she, and in her prostitution which was more depraved than the prostitution of her sister.

I observed that it was because unfaithful Israel had committed adultery that I had sent her away and had given her a certificate of divorce. Nevertheless, her treacherous sister Judah was not afraid but also went and prostituted herself.Indifferent to her prostitution, she defiled the land and committed adultery with stones and trees.Yet in spite of all this, her treacherous sister Judah didn’t return to me with all her heart— only in pretense.” This is the LORD’s declaration.The LORD announced to me,“ Unfaithful Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.

Didn’t you walk in their ways and do their detestable practices? It was only a short time before all your ways were more corrupt than theirs.“‘ As I live— the declaration of the Lord GOD— your sister Sodom and her daughters have not behaved as you and your daughters have.Now this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters had pride, plenty of food, and comfortable security, but didn’t support the poor and needy.They were haughty and did detestable acts before me, so I removed them when I saw this.But Samaria did not commit even half your sins. You have multiplied your detestable practices beyond theirs and made your sisters appear righteous by all the detestable acts you have committed.

The older one was named Oholah, and her sister was Oholibah. They became mine and gave birth to sons and daughters. As for their names, Oholah represents Samaria and Oholibah represents Jerusalem.
