“ Son of man, say to the land,‘ You are a land that has not been cleansed or rained on in the day of wrath.’

这人民还没有回转、归向那击打他们的万军之耶和华，也没有寻求他。

她不听话，也不受管教；她不倚靠耶和华，也不亲近她的神。

“我责打你们的儿女也是没用，因为他们不受管教。你们的刀剑，像灭命的狮子吞噬你们的先知。

这亚哈斯王在急难的时候，竟越发冒犯耶和华。

风箱猛烈地吹，铅在火中销熔；他们炼而又炼，徒劳无功，因为邪恶的仍未除去。

此外，所有的祭司长和人民也都大大地得罪神，随从列国所行一切可憎的事；他们污秽了耶和华在耶路撒冷分别为圣的殿。耶和华他们列祖的神，因为爱惜自己的子民和居所，就常常差派使者警戒他们。他们却戏弄神的使者，藐视他的话，讥诮他的先知，以致耶和华的忿怒临到他的子民身上，直到无法挽救。

耶和华啊！你的眼目不是要看诚实的事吗？你击打他们，他们却不觉得伤痛；你摧毁他们，他们仍不肯接受管教。他们板着脸，脸皮比磐石还硬，总不肯回转。

你的污秽就是淫荡。我想要洁净你，你却不愿意洁净，所以你的污秽再不能得到洁净，直等到我向你发的烈怒止息。

你们为什么屡次悖逆，还要受责打吗？你们整个头都受了伤，整个心都发昏了。

“你奉耶和华的名对我们所说的话，我们不听从。我们口中说过的一切话，我们一定去作，我们要向天后烧香，浇奠祭，好像我们自己和我们的列祖，以及我们的君王和领袖，在犹大的各城和耶路撒冷的街上所行的一样。那时我们吃得饱，得享福乐，不见灾祸。但是，自从我们停止向天后烧香和浇奠祭以后，我们就样样都缺乏，又因刀剑和饥荒灭亡。”那些妇女又说：“我们不错是向天后烧香和浇奠祭，难道我们的丈夫不知道我们照着天后的形象制饼供奉她，向她浇奠祭吗？”
