“ Son of man, the people of Israel have become dross to me; all of them are the copper, tin, iron and lead left inside a furnace. They are but the dross of silver.

“ Son of man, the people of Israel have become like scum to me. All of them are like the copper, tin, iron and lead left inside a furnace. They are only the scum that is removed from silver.”

凡地上的惡人，你除掉他，好像除掉渣滓；因此我愛你的法度。

你的銀子變為渣滓；你的酒用水攙對。

他們都是極悖逆的，往來讒謗人。他們是銅是鐵，都行壞事。風箱吹火，鉛被燒毀；他們煉而又煉，終是徒然；因為惡劣的還未除掉。人必稱他們為被棄的銀渣，因為耶和華已經棄掉他們。

我熬煉你，卻不像熬煉銀子；你在苦難的爐中，我揀選你。

鼎為煉銀，爐為煉金；惟有耶和華熬煉人心。

黃金何其失光！純金何其變色！聖所的石頭倒在各市口上。錫安寶貴的眾子好比精金，現在何竟算為窰匠手所做的瓦瓶？

我必反手加在你身上，煉盡你的渣滓，除淨你的雜質。

因為我素來知道你是頑梗的－你的頸項是鐵的；你的額是銅的。

人怎樣將銀、銅、鐵、鉛、錫聚在爐中，吹火鎔化；照樣，我也要發怒氣和忿怒，將你們聚集放在城中，鎔化你們。

他的磐石必因驚嚇挪去；他的首領必因大旗驚惶。這是那有火在錫安、有爐在耶路撒冷的耶和華說的。
