“ Son of man, the people of Israel have become dross to me; all of them are the copper, tin, iron and lead left inside a furnace. They are but the dross of silver.

“ Son of man, the people of Israel have become like scum to me. All of them are like the copper, tin, iron and lead left inside a furnace. They are only the scum that is removed from silver.”

世上所有的惡人，你都把他們除滅，如同除去渣滓，因此我喜愛你的法度。

你的銀子變成了渣滓，你的酒用水攙混。

他們都是十分悖逆的人，到處搬弄是非。他們是銅是鐵，他們都是敗壞的。風箱猛烈地吹，鉛在火中銷熔；他們煉而又煉，徒勞無功，因為邪惡的仍未除去。人要稱他們為被棄的銀渣，因為耶和華把他們棄絕了。

看哪！我熬煉了你，卻不像熬煉銀子；你在苦難的爐中，我揀選了你。

用鍋煉銀，用爐煉金；唯有耶和華鍛煉人心。

黃金怎麼竟然失去光澤，純金怎麼竟然變色？聖殿的石頭都被拋棄在各街頭上。錫安尊貴的眾民，本來和精金一樣貴重；現在怎麼竟被看為瓦器，好像陶匠手中所作的呢？

我必把手轉過來攻擊你；我要煉除你的渣滓，如同用鹼來煉一樣，我要除去你的一切雜質。

因為我知道你是頑固的，你的頸項是鐵的，你的額是銅的，

人怎樣把銀、銅、鐵、鉛、錫，集合在爐中，吹火使它們熔化，我也照樣在我的怒氣、我的烈怒中，把你們集合起來，放在城中，使你們熔化。

他們的磐石必因驚慌而挪去，他們的領袖必因見到以色列的旗幟而驚惶。這是那有火在錫安，有爐在耶路撒冷的耶和華說的。
