“人子啊！你要预言，说：‘主耶和华这样说：有一把刀，有一把磨利了的刀，是擦亮了的刀；

「人子啊，你要預言。耶和華吩咐我如此說：有刀、有刀，是磨快擦亮的；

「人子啊，你要預言說，耶和華如此吩咐，你要說：有刀，刀已磨快，又擦亮了；

「人子啊，你要預言說，耶和華如此吩咐，你要說：有刀，刀已磨快，又擦亮了；

人子歟、當預言曰、耶和華云、有刃有刃、既利且光、

人子、當傳我命曰、磨礪鋒刃、光芒四射。

人子、爾述預言曰、主如是云、當曰、有刃也、即磨利之刃、又已磨光焉、

告诉以色列，耶和华这样说，‘我要与你为敌，我要拔刀将你那里的义人和恶人一同消灭，

利箭穿透他的后背，闪亮的箭头刺破他的胆囊，恐怖笼罩着他。

“人子啊，你要说有关亚扪人及其耻辱的预言，告诉他们，主耶和华说，‘有刀，有刀已出鞘，为要杀戮；它亮如闪电，要行毁灭。

使他们吓得肝胆俱裂，许多人倒在家门口。我已赐下这亮如闪电的刀，用来杀戮。

我要磨快闪亮的剑，主持公道，报应仇敌，惩罚恨我的人。我要使我的箭饱饮鲜血，被杀被掳之人的血；我的剑要吞噬人肉，敌人将领的肉。’

耶和华的刀剑在天上饱饮了血后，必降下来惩罚以东——祂决意要毁灭的民族。祂的刀沾满了血和脂肪，如同羊羔、公山羊的血和公绵羊肾脏上的脂肪。因为耶和华要在波斯拉献祭，在以东大行杀戮。

杀戮者已来到旷野中光秃的山岭，耶和华使刀剑横扫全境，无人幸免。

即使他们被敌人掳去，我也要命刀剑追杀他们。我要定睛在他们身上，不是要赐福而是要降祸。”

如果他们问你，‘我们该去哪里，’你就告诉他们，耶和华这样说，“‘该死的死，该被杀的被杀，该遭饥荒的遭饥荒，该被掳的被掳。’

到那日，耶和华必用祂无坚不摧的利剑惩罚巨龙——那飞快、曲行的蛇。祂必杀死那海中的怪物。

上帝是公义的审判官，天天向恶人发怒。他们若不悔改，祂必磨刀霍霍，弯弓搭箭，诛灭他们。祂准备好了夺命的兵器，火箭已在弦上。

因为耶和华要用火和剑审判世人，杀死许多人。
