「萬軍之耶和華說，『那日要來臨了，就像燒紅的火爐，所有狂妄自大、作惡多端的人都要像碎稭一樣被火燒盡，連根帶枝，蕩然無存。

你要對南地的樹林說，『你要聽耶和華的話。主耶和華說，我要在你那裡燃起火來，燒毀你所有的青樹和枯樹。這不熄的烈火要從南到北燒焦一切。這樣，世人便知道這烈火是我耶和華點燃的，它絕不會熄滅。』」

祂手拿簸箕，要把穀場清理乾淨，將麥子存入倉裡，用不滅的火把糠秕燒盡。」

天地都要過去，但我的話永遠長存。

你們要收刀入鞘，我要在你們的家鄉，在你們的出生之地審判你們，

現在斧頭已經放在樹根上了，不結好果子的樹都要被砍下，丟在火裡。

他們必曝屍在外，臭氣燻天，血浸山嶺。天上的萬象必融化，穹蒼像書卷捲起；星辰隕落，像凋零的葡萄葉，又像枯落的無花果。耶和華的刀劍在天上飽飲了血後，必降下來懲罰以東——祂決意要毀滅的民族。祂的刀沾滿了血和脂肪，如同羊羔、公山羊的血和公綿羊腎臟上的脂肪。因為耶和華要在波斯拉獻祭，在以東大行殺戮。他們像野牛、牛犢和公牛一樣倒下。他們的土地被血浸透，土壤被脂肪覆蓋。

上帝並非世人，祂不撒謊；上帝不是凡人，祂不反悔。祂言出必行，信守承諾。
