“人子啊，你要拍掌对他们说预言，你要拿刀挥舞两三次，预示这刀要从四面八方大肆杀戮，

“人子啊，你要拍掌预言。我耶和华要使这刀，就是致死伤的刀，一连三次加倍刺人，进入他们的内屋，使大人受死伤的就是这刀。

“人子啊，你要拍掌预言，使这刀三番两次临到；这是致人死伤的刀，就是包围人，使人大受死伤的刀。

“人子啊，你要拍掌预言，使这刀三番两次临到；这是致人死伤的刀，就是包围人，使人大受死伤的刀。

“人子啊！至于你，你要拍手说预言，要接二连三地使用这杀人的刀，就是导致极大死伤的刀，把它们围困，

「人子啊，你要拍掌預言。我－耶和華要使這刀，就是致死傷的刀，一連三次加倍刺人，進入他們的內屋，使大人受死傷的就是這刀。

「人子啊，你要拍掌對他們說預言，你要拿刀揮舞兩三次，預示這刀要從四面八方大肆殺戮，

“人子啊！至於你，你要拍手說預言，要接二連三地使用這殺人的刀，就是導致極大死傷的刀，把它們圍困，

『因此人子啊，你要傳神言；拍掌講話：要再次再三地使這刀，就是刺人致死的刀，刺死大人物的刀，就是在他們四圍的，

人子歟、爾其預言而鼓掌、使刃再三行戮、此刃即重傷大人、入諸密室者、

惟爾人子、當鼓爾掌、言未來事、使刃三至、殺戮人民、入諸密室、誅滅大人。

惟爾人子、當鼓掌言未來事、言未來事或作述預言下同使刃至再至三、此刃殺戮多民、入其密室、誅滅大人、使刃至再至三此刃殺戮多民入其密室誅滅大人或作此刃必再三行殺戮此乃殺戮多人之刃此乃殺戮大人之刃必入其密室

“ So then, son of man, prophesy and strike your hands together. Let the sword strike twice, even three times. It is a sword for slaughter— a sword for great slaughter, closing in on them from every side.

“ Son of man, prophesy. Clap your hands. Let the sword strike twice. Let it strike even three times. It is a sword to kill people. It is a sword to kill many people. It is closing in on them from every side.

“ As for you, son of man, prophesy. Clap your hands and let the sword come down twice, yes, three times, the sword for those to be slain. It is the sword for the great slaughter, which surrounds them,

“ Son of man, prophesy to them and clap your hands. Then take the sword and brandish it twice, even three times, to symbolize the great massacre, the great massacre facing them on every side.

“ So you, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands together: Let the sword strike two times, even three. It is a sword for massacre, a sword for great massacre— it surrounds them!

“ You therefore, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword for the slain. It is the sword for the great one slain, which surrounds them,

“ You therefore, son of man, prophesy, And strike your hands together. The third time let the sword do double damage. It is the sword that slays, The sword that slays the great men, That enters their private chambers.

Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thy hands together; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the deadly wounded: it is the sword of the great one that is deadly wounded, which entereth into their chambers.

Therefore, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands together. Let the sword strike two times, even three. It is a sword for massacre, a sword for great massacre— it surrounds them!

巴勒听了大怒，用力击掌，对巴兰说：“我请你来咒诅我的仇敌，你竟三次祝福他们。

约雅敬执政期间，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒进犯，约雅敬臣服于他，三年后又背叛了他。

那时，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒派将领围攻耶路撒冷。围城期间，尼布甲尼撒亲自来到耶路撒冷。犹大王约雅斤及其母亲、臣仆和文官武将向尼布甲尼撒投降。巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒在他执政第八年俘虏了约雅斤，拿走了耶和华殿里和王宫里的宝物，以及所罗门王为耶和华的殿所造的金器，正如耶和华所言。他又掳走住在耶路撒冷的所有将领、勇士、工匠和铁匠共一万人，只留下了境内最贫穷的人。他把约雅斤及其母亲、妃嫔、臣仆和国中政要从耶路撒冷掳到巴比伦。此外被掳的还有能征善战的勇士七千人，工匠和铁匠一千人。

主耶和华说：“你要拍手顿足地呼喊，‘唉，以色列人有祸了！’他们的一切邪恶行为必使他们倒在刀剑、饥荒和瘟疫之下。

我也要与你们作对，用比先前严重七倍的灾难击打你们。

“如果你们仍然与我作对，不肯听从我，我要把比先前严重七倍的灾难降在你们身上。

米该雅说：“你躲进密室的那天就知道了。”

我要拍掌，我的烈怒要平息。这是我耶和华说的。”

祂又对我说：“人子啊，你看见以色列的长老在自己藏神像的房间里暗中所做的了吗？他们说，‘耶和华看不见我们，祂已经抛弃了这片土地。’”

即使他们挖洞钻进阴间，我也要把他们揪出来；即使他们爬上高天，我也要把他们拉下来；

尼布甲尼撒怒气填胸，向沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌大发雷霆，下令将火窑烧得比平时热七倍，

西底迦执政第九年十月十日，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领全军攻打耶路撒冷，在城外安营，修筑围城的高台。城一直被围困到西底迦执政第十一年。那年四月九日，城里饥荒非常严重，百姓无粮可吃。城被攻破，城里的所有士兵便在夜间穿过御花园，从两城墙中间的门逃往亚拉巴。当时迦勒底人仍四面包围着城。迦勒底军队追赶西底迦，在耶利哥平原追上了他，他的军队都四散而逃。迦勒底人擒住西底迦，把他押到利比拉见巴比伦王，在那里审判他。巴比伦王在西底迦面前杀了他的众子，又剜去他的双眼，把他用铜链锁着押往巴比伦。

残余的亚兰人都逃进亚弗城，但城墙倒塌压死了两万七千人。便·哈达也逃进城，躲在一间房子的内室里。
