我这么做是为了我名的缘故，免得我的名在他们所居住之列国眼中被亵渎；我曾在这些列国眼前向他们显现，领他们出了埃及地。

我却为我名的缘故没有这样行，免得我名在他们所住的列国人眼前被亵渎；我领他们出埃及地，在这列国人的眼前将自己向他们显现。

然為我名之故、別有施行、免我名見辱於其所處之國、因我顯見、導我民出埃及、彼目睹之也、

恐列國之民、以我為無能、為藐視我名、故我顯現、導之出埃及、入於曠野、使列國人目睹。

但因彼居異邦民中、故我未行是、恐我名被異邦人褻慢、蓋我已在異邦民目前、顯現於彼、導之出伊及地、

But for the sake of my name, I brought them out of Egypt. I did it to keep my name from being profaned in the eyes of the nations among whom they lived and in whose sight I had revealed myself to the Israelites.

I wanted my name to be honored. So I brought my people out of Egypt. I did it to keep my name from being treated as if it were not holy. I didn’t want this to happen in front of the nations around my people. I had made myself known to Israel in the sight of those nations.

But I acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

But I didn’t do it, for I acted to protect the honor of my name. I would not allow shame to be brought on my name among the surrounding nations who saw me reveal myself by bringing the Israelites out of Egypt.

But I acted for the sake of my name, so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations they were living among, in whose sight I had made myself known to Israel by bringing them out of Egypt.

But I acted for the sake of My name, that it would not be defiled in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, in whose sight I made Myself known to them by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

But I acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the Gentiles among whom they were, in whose sight I had made Myself known to them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt.

But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

But I acted because of My name, so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations they were living among, in whose sight I had made Myself known to Israel by bringing them out of Egypt.

But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they[ were], in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

I acted for the sake of my reputation, so that I would not be profaned before the nations among whom they lived, before whom I revealed myself by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them, in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

“我要在我的子民以色列中彰显我的圣名，不容我的圣名再被亵渎，列国就知道我—耶和华是以色列中的圣者。

但我顾惜我的圣名，就是以色列家在所到的列国中亵渎的。“所以，你要对以色列家说，主耶和华如此说：以色列家啊，我做这事不是为你们，而是为了我的圣名，就是你们在所到的列国中亵渎的。

为什么让埃及人说：‘他领他们出去，是要降灾祸给他们，在山中把他们杀了，将他们从地上除灭’呢？求你回心转意，不发你的烈怒，不降灾祸给你的百姓。

迦南人和这地所有的居民听见了就必围困我们，把我们的名从地上除去。那时，你为你至大的名要怎样做呢？”

免得你领我们出来的那地之人说：耶和华因为不能将这百姓领进他所应许之地，又因恨他们，所以领他们出去，要在旷野杀他们。

我们有祸了！谁能救我们脱离这些大能之神明的手呢？从前在旷野用各样灾祸击打埃及人的，就是这些神明。

耶和华必因他大名的缘故不撇弃他的子民，因为耶和华喜悦你们作他的子民。

我曾说，我要粉碎他们，使他们的名从人间消失。惟恐仇敌挑衅，他们的敌人误解，说，我们的手得胜了，这一切并非耶和华做的。’

因为我们听见你们出埃及的时候，耶和华怎样在你们前面使红海的水干了，并且你们怎样处置约旦河东的两个亚摩利王，西宏和噩，把他们完全消灭。

摩西对耶和华说：“埃及人必听见，因你曾施展大能，领这百姓从他们中间出来。埃及人要告诉这地的居民，他们已经听见你—耶和华是在这百姓中间，因为你—耶和华面对面显示自己，你的云彩停在他们以上。你日间在云柱中，夜间在火柱中，在他们的前面行。你若把这百姓杀了，好像杀一个人那样，那听见你名声的列国必说：‘耶和华因为不能把这百姓领进他向他们起誓应许之地，所以在旷野把他们杀了。’现在求主显出大能，照你说过的话说：‘耶和华不轻易发怒，且有丰盛的慈爱。他赦免罪孽和过犯，万不以有罪的为无罪，必惩罚人的罪，从父到子，直到三、四代。’求你照你的大慈爱赦免这百姓的罪孽，好像你从埃及到如今饶恕这百姓一样。”耶和华说：“我照着你的话赦免他们。然而，我指着我的永生与遍地充满了耶和华的荣耀起誓：这些人虽然都看过我的荣耀和我在埃及与旷野所行的神迹，仍然这十次试探我，不听从我的话，他们绝不能看见我向他们祖宗所起誓应许之地；凡藐视我的，一个也不得看见。惟独我的仆人迦勒，因他另有一个心志，专心跟从我，我要领他进入他所去过的那地；他的后裔必得那地为业。亚玛力人和迦南人住在谷中，明天你们要转回去，沿着红海的路往旷野去。”

他们对他说：“你的仆人是因耶和华—你上帝的名从极远之地来的。我们听见他的名声，他在埃及所做的一切，以及他向约旦河东的两个亚摩利王，希实本王西宏和在亚斯她录的巴珊王噩所做的一切。
