恐列國之民、以我為無能、為藐視我名、故我顯現、導之出埃及、入於曠野、使列國人目睹。

But for the sake of my name, I brought them out of Egypt. I did it to keep my name from being profaned in the eyes of the nations among whom they lived and in whose sight I had revealed myself to the Israelites.

I wanted my name to be honored. So I brought my people out of Egypt. I did it to keep my name from being treated as if it were not holy. I didn’t want this to happen in front of the nations around my people. I had made myself known to Israel in the sight of those nations.

But I acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

But I didn’t do it, for I acted to protect the honor of my name. I would not allow shame to be brought on my name among the surrounding nations who saw me reveal myself by bringing the Israelites out of Egypt.

But I acted for the sake of my name, so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations they were living among, in whose sight I had made myself known to Israel by bringing them out of Egypt.

But I acted for the sake of My name, that it would not be defiled in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, in whose sight I made Myself known to them by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

But I acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the Gentiles among whom they were, in whose sight I had made Myself known to them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt.

But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

But I acted because of My name, so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations they were living among, in whose sight I had made Myself known to Israel by bringing them out of Egypt.

But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they[ were], in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

I acted for the sake of my reputation, so that I would not be profaned before the nations among whom they lived, before whom I revealed myself by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them, in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

何為使伊及人云、耶和華導之出伊及、特欲加害於彼、殺之山中、滅之於地、求主轉怒回瞋、不降所言之禍於主之民、

迦南人與此地一切居民聞之、必環而攻我、滅我名於天下、然主名為大、何以使人尊崇、原文作主為主之大名將如何而行

主導我所出之地、恐其居民曰、或作其民必將曰因主不能導斯民入所許之之地、又因憾斯民、故導之出、欲滅之於野、

禍哉我儕、誰能救我脫於此大能之神乎、昔在曠野、降各災於伊及人者、即此神也、

主既歡然選爾為己民、必因其大名不棄爾、

我云將彼散之四方、使其名號滅於人間、第恐仇人使我忿懥、或作第恐仇人狂怒恐其敵人不認根由、恐敵自謂己手力大、謂此諸事非主所行、

爾出伊及時、主為爾使紅海水涸、爾如何待約但東之亞摩利二王西宏及噩、即爾所殲滅者、此皆為我所聞、

摩西對主曰、若如此、伊及人必聞之、因主曾施大力、導斯民出伊及、伊及人必將此事告於居迦南地之人、迦南人亦曾聞主處於斯民中、顯現為眾目所睹、以雲蔽之、晝導之以雲柱、夜導之以火柱、若主盡滅斯民、如戮一人、則聞主名之列國人、必曰、緣耶和華無力導斯民入所誓賜之地、故戮之於野、今求主按主前言、以顯大力、主曾云、我耶和華乃忍怒大施恩惠、赦宥愆尤罪過、惟罪當罰、斷無不罰、罰父之罪、以及子孫、至於三四代、主自導此民出伊及以來、常赦宥之、今求主循主大恩、赦其罪愆、主曰、我循爾言以赦宥、我乃永生、我之榮光丕顯丕顯原文作充滿於天下、我指己而誓、此眾人雖已見我之榮光、亦見我在伊及與曠野所行之異跡、猶且試我至於十次、不聽我言、必不得見我所誓賜其列祖之地、凡棄我者、皆不得見之、惟我僕迦勒緣聽從我、不與眾同心、我必使其得入所往之地、使其後裔得以為業、今亞瑪力人迦南人居於平原、明日當旋返、往曠野、向紅海而行、○
