“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel. Tell them,‘ The Lord and King says,“ Have you come to ask me for advice? I will not let you do that,” announces the Lord and King.“ And that is just as sure as I am alive.” ’

“人子啊，你要告诉以色列的长老说，主耶和华如此说：你们来是求问我吗？主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不被你们求问。

“人子啊，你要告诉以色列的长老，对他们说，主耶和华如此说：你们来是为求问我吗？主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不让你们求问。

“人子啊，你要告诉以色列的长老，对他们说，主耶和华如此说：你们来是为求问我吗？主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不让你们求问。

“人子啊，你要告诉他们，主耶和华这样说，‘你们是来求问我吗？我凭我的永恒起誓，我决不让你们求问。’

“人子啊！你要告诉以色列的长老，对他们说：‘主耶和华这样说：你们来求问我吗？我指着我的永生起誓，我必不让你们求问我。这是主耶和华的宣告。’

「人子啊，你要告訴以色列的長老說，主耶和華如此說：你們來是求問我嗎？主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不被你們求問。

「人子啊，你要告訴以色列的長老，對他們說，主耶和華如此說：你們來是為求問我嗎？主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不讓你們求問。

「人子啊，你要告訴以色列的長老，對他們說，主耶和華如此說：你們來是為求問我嗎？主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不讓你們求問。

「人子啊，你要告訴他們，主耶和華這樣說，『你們是來求問我嗎？我憑我的永恆起誓，我決不讓你們求問。』

“人子啊！你要告訴以色列的長老，對他們說：‘主耶和華這樣說：你們來求問我嗎？我指著我的永生起誓，我必不讓你們求問我。這是主耶和華的宣告。’

『人子啊，你要告訴以色列的長老，說：主永恆主這麼說：你們來是求問我麼？主永恆主發神諭說：我指着永活的我來起誓，我是不讓你們求問的。

人子歟、謂以色列長老云、主耶和華曰、爾來諮諏於我乎、主耶和華曰、我指己生而誓、不聽爾之諮諏、

人子、當告以色列族長老、云、主耶和華曰、爾來諮諏於我、我指己而誓、不許爾與我言。

人子、當言與以色列長老、告之曰、主天主如是云、爾來求問於我乎、主天主曰、我指己永生而誓、我必不應爾、

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Have you come to inquire of me? As surely as I live, I will not let you inquire of me, declares the Sovereign Lord.’

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God, Is it to inquire of me that you come? As I live, declares the Lord God, I will not be inquired of by you.

“ Son of man, tell the leaders of Israel,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: How dare you come to ask me for a message? As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I will tell you nothing!’

“ Son of man, speak with the elders of Israel and tell them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: Are you coming to inquire of me? As I live, I will not let you inquire of me. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.’

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Do you yourselves come to inquire of Me? As I live,” declares the Lord God,“ I certainly will not be inquired of by you.” ’

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord God:“ Have you come to inquire of Me? As I live,” says the Lord God,“ I will not be inquired of by you.”’

Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Is it to inquire of me that ye are come? As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.

“ Son of man, speak with the elders of Israel and tell them: This is what the Lord God says: Are you coming to consult Me? As I live, I will not be consulted by you.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye come to enquire of me?[ As] I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them:‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: Are you coming to seek me? As surely as I live, I will not allow you to seek me, declares the sovereign LORD.’

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Is it to inquire of me that you have come? As I live,” says the Lord Yahweh,“ I will not be inquired of by you.”’

If you don’t pay attention to my instruction, even your prayers are hated.

Those who see visions will be put to shame. Those who try to figure out what is going to happen will be dishonored. All of them will cover their faces. I will not answer them.”

“‘ These people honor me by what they say. But their hearts are far away from me.Their worship doesn’t mean anything to me. They teach nothing but human rules.’ ”( Isaiah 29:13)

Call out to me when trouble comes. I will save you. And you will honor me.”But here is what God says to a sinful person.“ What right do you have to speak the words of my laws? How dare you speak the words of my covenant!You hate my teaching. You turn your back on what I say.When you see a thief, you join him. You make friends with those who commit adultery.You use your mouth to speak evil. You use your tongue to spread lies.You are a witness against your brother. You always tell lies about your own mother’s son.When you did these things, I kept silent. So you thought I was just like you. But now I’m going to bring you to court. I will bring charges against you.

John saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing. He said to them,“ You are like a nest of poisonous snakes! Who warned you to escape the coming of God’s anger?

The Lord hates the sacrifice of sinful people. But the prayers of honest people please him.

God is spirit. His worshipers must worship him in the Spirit and in truth.”

He asked the Lord for advice. But the Lord didn’t answer him through dreams or prophets. He didn’t answer him when Saul had the priest cast lots by using the Urim.

Who asked you to bring all these animals when you come to worship me? Who asked you and your animals to walk all over my courtyards?

“ Son of man, these men have thought about nothing but other gods. They have fallen into the evil trap of worshiping them. Should I let these men ask me for any advice?Speak to them. Tell them,‘ The Lord and King says,“ Suppose any of the Israelites think about other gods. And they fall into the evil trap of worshiping them. Then they go to a prophet to ask for advice. If they do, I myself will tell the prophet to answer them in keeping with their worship of many gods.

John spoke to the crowds coming to be baptized by him. He said,“ You are like a nest of poisonous snakes! Who warned you to escape the coming of God’s anger?

You might spread out your hands toward me when you pray. But I do not look at you. You might even offer many prayers. But I am not listening to them. Your hands are covered with the blood of the people you have murdered.

You make yourselves‘ unclean’ by offering sacrifices to other gods. You even sacrifice your children in the fire. You continue to do these things to this day. People of Israel, should I let you ask me for advice? I will not let you do that,” announces the Lord and King.“ And that is just as sure as I am alive.

God hates sacrifices that are brought by evil people. He hates it even more when they bring them for the wrong reason.

“‘ “Suppose any of the Israelites or any outsiders who live in Israel separate themselves from me. And they think about other gods. They fall into the evil trap of worshiping them. Then they go to a prophet to ask me for advice. If they do, I myself will tell the prophet to answer them.I will turn against them. I will make an example out of them. People will talk about the bad things that happen to them. I will remove them from you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
