because they rejected my laws and did not follow my decrees and desecrated my Sabbaths. For their hearts were devoted to their idols.

But they turned their backs on my laws. They did not obey my rules. They misused my Sabbath days. Their hearts were committed to worshiping the statues of their gods.

爾觀其絡、可憶我誡、遵循勿失、

人子、斯人之於偶像、中則崇敬之、外則瞻禮之、自陷於惡、豈得諮諏於我乎。故爾當以我耶和華之命、播告斯眾、曰、以色列族之於偶像、中則崇敬之、外則瞻禮之、自陷於惡、後就先知、諮諏於我、我耶和華、必視其偶像之多寡、而降以罰、

惟彼違逆、不從我命、不棄可惡之物、不毀埃及之偶像、故爾祖尚在埃及時、我已憤怒甚烈、欲降災其躬、

民見摩西遲回於山不下、則集亞倫前、曰摩西率我出埃及、今彼不知所往、爾盍鑄上帝像、為我先導。亞倫曰、爾妻孥垂耳之金環、脫以予我。民即脫之、以授亞倫。亞倫受之、鎔鑄其金、刀刻為犢、有稱之者曰、以色列族乎、導爾出埃及之上帝、即此。亞倫見之、築壇其前、示眾曰、詰旦節期、奉事耶和華。夙興燔牲獻祭、亦獻酬恩之祭、民坐而飲食、起而舞蹈、○耶和華諭摩西曰、爾必下、爾所導出埃及之民、已喪厥心、我所諭之道、彼違甚速、鑄犢崇拜祭祀、稱之曰以色列族乎、導爾出埃及之上帝、即此。

以色列族乎、爾在曠野、凡歷四十年、非以牲牷祭品、奉獻於我哉、何爾又肩摩落之龕、作基文之像、爾上帝之星、而崇拜之乎、

摩押女祭其上帝、請以色列族至、遂食祭品、共相崇拜、

當其盛年、在埃及行淫、為男擁抱、自玷厥躬、及其中年、猶不悛改、

列祖不順而拒之、欲反埃及、謂亞倫曰、摩西率我出埃及、不知所往、今爾為我作上帝像以導我、乃鑄像若犢、祭之、喜己手所作也、於是、上帝弗恤、聽其奉事天上列宿、先知書有云、以色列族乎、爾於曠野四十年、非以犧牲祭物獻我歟、何爾又肩摩落之龕、舉爾上帝臉番之星、即爾所造之像、欲拜之者、我將徙爾於巴比倫外矣、

然以色列族在曠野、違逆乎我、不遵我禮儀、犯我安息日、浸假有人守我法度、則可保生、惟彼藐視之、故我自謂、必在曠野、震怒斯眾、滅之務盡。夫我所以不加殲滅者、恐列國之人、以我僅導斯民出於埃及、必將藐視我名。
