because they rejected my laws and did not follow my decrees and desecrated my Sabbaths. For their hearts were devoted to their idols.

But they turned their backs on my laws. They did not obey my rules. They misused my Sabbath days. Their hearts were committed to worshiping the statues of their gods.

惟彼違逆、而不聽我、不棄所慕可惡之物、不離埃及之偶像、故彼尚在埃及、我曰、必傾我怒、盡洩我忿於其身、

民見摩西遲迴於山不下、則集於亞倫前曰、爾其為我造神像、以為我之先導、蓋率我出埃及之摩西、不知其何所遇矣、亞倫曰、脫爾妻孥垂耳之金環、攜以予我、民即脫之、以授亞倫、亞倫受之、鎔鑄刻鏤為犢、眾曰、以色列人歟、此即導爾出埃及之神也、亞倫見之、築壇其前、宣告曰、詰朝可為耶和華之節期、翌日民夙興、獻燔祭與酬恩祭、坐而飲食、起而舞蹈、○耶和華諭摩西曰、爾其下山、爾之民、爾所導出埃及者、已自敗壞、我所諭之道、彼速違之、鑄犢崇拜祭祀、曰以色列人歟、此即導爾出埃及之神也、

以色列家歟、爾在曠野歷四十年、豈以犧牲素祭獻於我乎、爾舁爾王西弗、與爾之像基芸、即爾之神星、為己所造者、

蓋其女請民至、同祭其神、民遂食其祭品、共拜其神、

當其少年、在埃及行淫、為男玷污、摩撫厥乳、迄今未改、

我列祖弗順而拒之、意欲返埃及、謂亞倫曰、為我造神以導我、因率我出埃及之摩西、我不知其何往也、維時乃造犢像獻祭焉、而喜己手之工、於是上帝轉而不顧、任其奉事天軍、如先知書所錄云、以色列室乎、爾四十年於曠野、豈以犧牲祭物獻我乎、爾舁摩洛之幕、與理番神之星、即爾所造以拜者之像、吾將徙爾於巴比倫外矣、

惟以色列家在曠野、悖逆乎我、不循我典章、棄我律例、人若遵行、則緣之得生、且犯我安息日特甚、我則曰、必在曠野、傾我怒以滅之、然為我名之故、別有施行、免我名見辱於列國、以其見我導之出也、
