Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given[ them], flowing with milk and honey, which[ is] the glory of all lands;

我復在野發誓、必不導之入我所賜流乳與蜜之地、即諸地之美者、

彼尚在曠野、我誓不導之入產乳與蜜之地、斯地列國所羨美。

我亦在曠野為之發誓、必不導之入我所賜之之地、即流乳與蜜之地、其地在列國中最佳美、

Also with uplifted hand I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land I had given them— a land flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands—

And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,

Tomorrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,How long[ shall I bear with] this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.Say unto them,[ As truly as] I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,Doubtless ye shall not come into the land,[ concerning] which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.For the LORD had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries;

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
