然而以色列家在曠野卻叛逆了我，不遵行我的律例，反而棄絕我的典章、（就是人若實行、必因此而活着的），大大瀆犯我的安息日。『我就心裏說我要在曠野將我的烈怒傾倒在他們身上，來消滅他們。

惟以色列家在曠野、悖逆乎我、不循我典章、棄我律例、人若遵行、則緣之得生、且犯我安息日特甚、我則曰、必在曠野、傾我怒以滅之、

然以色列族在曠野、違逆乎我、不遵我禮儀、犯我安息日、浸假有人守我法度、則可保生、惟彼藐視之、故我自謂、必在曠野、震怒斯眾、滅之務盡。

然以色列族在曠野悖逆我、不遵我之律例、藐視我之法度、人若遵行、必由此得生、彼又大犯我之安息日、我言將震怒斯民、震怒斯民或作傾洩我之盛怒於斯民滅之於曠野、

“‘ Yet the people of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They did not follow my decrees but rejected my laws— by which the person who obeys them will live— and they utterly desecrated my Sabbaths. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and destroy them in the wilderness.

“‘ “But in the desert the people of Israel refused to obey me. They did not follow my rules. They turned their backs on my laws. The person who obeys them will live by them. They totally misused my Sabbath days. So I said I would pour out my great anger on them. I would destroy them in the desert.

But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They did not walk in my statutes but rejected my rules, by which, if a person does them, he shall live; and my Sabbaths they greatly profaned.“ Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, to make a full end of them.

“ But the people of Israel rebelled against me, and they refused to obey my decrees there in the wilderness. They wouldn’t obey my regulations even though obedience would have given them life. They also violated my Sabbath days. So I threatened to pour out my fury on them, and I made plans to utterly consume them in the wilderness.

“‘ But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They did not follow my statutes and they rejected my ordinances— the person who does them will live by them. They also completely profaned my Sabbaths. So I considered pouring out my wrath on them in the wilderness to put an end to them.

Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments,‘ which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness; they did not follow my statutes and they rejected my regulations( the one who obeys them will live by them), and they utterly desecrated my Sabbaths. So I decided to pour out my rage on them in the wilderness and destroy them.

“‘“ But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They didn’t walk in my statutes, and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keeps, he shall live in them. They greatly profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

But the children rebelled against Me; they did not walk in My statutes, nor were they careful to follow My ordinances which, if a person follows them, then he will live by them; they profaned My Sabbaths. So I resolved to pour out My wrath on them, to use up My anger against them in the wilderness.

But they rebelled against Me and were not willing to listen to Me; they did not throw away, each of them, the detestable things of their eyes, nor did they abandon the idols of Egypt.“ Then I resolved to pour out My wrath on them, to use up My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

“ Also the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord, To attend to His service and to love the name of the Lord, To be His servants, every one who keeps the Sabbath so as not to profane it, And holds firmly to My covenant;

because they had not complied with My ordinances, but had rejected My statutes and had profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes were on the idols of their fathers.

Even at Horeb you provoked the Lord to anger, and the Lord was so angry with you that He would have destroyed you.

And the Lord said to Moses,“ How long will this people be disrespectful to Me? And how long will they not believe in Me, despite all the signs that I have performed in their midst?I will strike them with plague and dispossess them, and I will make you into a nation greater and mightier than they.”

your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness, all your numbered men according to your complete number from twenty years old and upward, who have grumbled against Me.

So now leave Me alone, that My anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them; and I will make of you a great nation.”

Certainly all the people who have seen My glory and My signs which I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have put Me to the test these ten times and have not listened to My voice,

Then the Lord said to me,‘ Arise, go down from here quickly, because your people, whom you brought out of Egypt, have behaved corruptly. They have quickly turned aside from the way that I commanded them; they have made a cast metal image for themselves.’The Lord also said to me,‘ I have seen this people, and indeed, it is a stubborn people.Leave Me alone, that I may destroy them and wipe out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.’“ So I turned and came down from the mountain while the mountain was burning with fire, and the two tablets of the covenant were in my two hands.And I saw that you had indeed sinned against the Lord your God. You had made for yourselves a cast metal image of a calf; you had quickly turned aside from the way that the Lord had commanded you.So I took hold of the two tablets and threw them from my two hands, and smashed them to pieces before your eyes!Then I fell down before the Lord like the first time, for forty days and nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all your sin which you had committed by doing what was evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.For I was afraid of the anger and the rage with which the Lord was angry with you so as to destroy you; but the Lord listened to me that time as well.The Lord was also angry enough with Aaron to destroy him; so I also prayed for Aaron at the same time.And I took your sinful thing which you had made, the calf, and burned it in the fire and crushed it, grinding it thoroughly until it was as fine as dust; and I threw its dust into the stream that came down from the mountain.“ Then at Taberah, at Massah, and at Kibroth hattaavah you kept provoking the Lord to anger.And when the Lord sent you from Kadesh barnea, saying,‘ Go up and take possession of the land which I have given you,’ you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God; you neither trusted Him nor listened to His voice.You have been rebellious toward the Lord since the day I knew you.

This is what the Lord says:“ For three offenses of Judah, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, Because they rejected the Law of the Lord And have not kept His statutes; Their lies also have led them astray, Those which their fathers followed.

if, instead, you reject My statutes, and if your soul loathes My ordinances so as not to carry out all My commandments, but rather to break My covenant,

Therefore, the one who rejects this is not rejecting man, but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.

Yet it came about on the seventh day that some of the people went out to gather, but they found none.Then the Lord said to Moses,“ How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My instructions?

Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,“ Separate yourselves from among this congregation, so that I may consume them instantly.”

They quickly forgot His works; They did not wait for His plan,But became lustfully greedy in the wilderness, And put God to the test in the desert.So He gave them their request, But sent a wasting disease among them.When they became envious of Moses in the camp, And of Aaron, the holy one of the Lord,The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And engulfed the company of Abiram.And a fire blazed up in their company; The flame consumed the wicked.They made a calf in Horeb, And worshiped a cast metal image.So they exchanged their glory For the image of an ox that eats grass.They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt,Wonders in the land of Ham, And awesome things by the Red Sea.Therefore He said that He would destroy them, If Moses, His chosen one, had not stood in the gap before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them.Then they rejected the pleasant land; They did not believe His word,But grumbled in their tents; They did not listen to the voice of the Lord.Therefore He swore to them That He would have them fall in the wilderness,And that He would bring down their descendants among the nations, And scatter them in the lands.They also followed Baal peor, And ate sacrifices offered to the dead.So they provoked Him to anger with their deeds, And a plague broke out among them.Then Phinehas stood up and intervened, And so the plague was brought to a halt.And it was credited to him as righteousness, To all generations forever.They also provoked Him to wrath at the waters of Meribah, So that it went badly for Moses on their account.Because they were rebellious against His Spirit, He spoke rashly with his lips.

They have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them. They have made for themselves a cast metal calf, and have worshiped it and have sacrificed to it and said,‘ This is your god, Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt!’ ”

Like all the deeds which they have done since the day that I brought them up from Egypt even to this day— in that they have abandoned Me and served other gods— so they are doing to you as well.

because they rejected My ordinances, and as for My statutes, they did not walk in them; they also profaned My Sabbaths, because their heart continually followed their idols.

These are the families of Issachar by those who were numbered of them, 64,300.

For I know your rebellion and your stubbornness; behold, as long as I have been alive with you until today, you have been rebellious against the Lord; how much more, then, after my death?

“ Get away from among this congregation so that I may consume them instantly.” Then they fell on their faces.

Anyone who has ignored the Law of Moses is put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.How much more severe punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Since he has despised the word of the Lord and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt will be on him.’ ”Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.And those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation;and they placed him in custody, because it had not been decided what should be done to him.Then the Lord said to Moses,“ The man must be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.”So all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

For the land will be abandoned by them, and will restore its Sabbaths while it is made desolate without them. They, meanwhile, will be making amends for their wrongdoing, because they rejected My ordinances and their soul loathed My statutes.

How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness And grieved Him in the desert!Again and again they tempted God, And pained the Holy One of Israel.

“ But they, our fathers, acted arrogantly; They became stubborn and would not listen to Your commandments.They refused to listen, And did not remember Your wondrous deeds which You performed among them; So they became stubborn and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But You are a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger and abounding in mercy; And You did not abandon them.Even when they made for themselves A calf of cast metal And said,‘ This is your god Who brought you up from Egypt,’ And committed great blasphemies,

But they rebelled And grieved His Holy Spirit; Therefore He turned Himself to become their enemy, He fought against them.

Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, As on the day of Massah in the wilderness,“ When your fathers put Me to the test, They tested Me, though they had seen My work.For forty years I was disgusted with that generation, And said they are a people who err in their heart, And they do not know My ways.Therefore I swore in My anger, They certainly shall not enter My rest.”

One who despises the word will do badly, But one who fears the commandment will be rewarded.

Why have you despised the word of the Lord, by doing evil in His sight? You have struck and killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, you have taken his wife as your wife, and you have slaughtered him with the sword of the sons of Ammon.

And you neglected all my advice And did not want my rebuke;
