You say,“‘ Do not prophesy against Israel, and stop preaching against the descendants of Isaac.’“ Therefore this is what the Lord says:“‘ Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be measured and divided up, and you yourself will die in a pagan country. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their native land.’” (niv)

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. (niv)

Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. (niv)

But Peter and John replied,“ Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! (niv)

And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth.They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.They were not allowed to kill them but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes.During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them. “ Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have taken my instruction to heart: Do not fear the reproach of mere mortals or be terrified by their insults. (niv)

They are all hardened rebels, going about to slander. They are bronze and iron; they all act corruptly. (niv)
