現今你去，在他們面前將這話刻在版上，寫在書上，以便傳留後世，直到永永遠遠。因為他們是悖逆的百姓、說謊的兒女，不肯聽從耶和華訓誨的兒女。他們對先見說：不要望見不吉利的事，對先知說：不要向我們講正直的話；要向我們說柔和的話，言虛幻的事。你們要離棄正道，偏離直路，不要在我們面前再提說以色列的聖者。

第二樣災禍過去，第三樣災禍快到了。

論到猶大王約雅敬你要說，耶和華如此說：你燒了書卷，說：『你為甚麼在其上寫着，說巴比倫王必要來毀滅這地，使這地上絕了人民牲畜呢？』所以耶和華論到猶大王約雅敬說：他後裔中必沒有人坐在大衛的寶座上；他的屍首必被拋棄，白日受炎熱，黑夜受寒霜。我必因他和他後裔，並他臣僕的罪孽刑罰他們。我要使我所說的一切災禍臨到他們和耶路撒冷的居民，並猶大人；只是他們不聽。」於是，耶利米又取一書卷交給尼利亞的兒子文士巴錄，他就從耶利米的口中寫了猶大王約雅敬所燒前卷上的一切話，另外又添了許多相彷的話。

他對我說：將這默示明明地寫在版上，使讀的人容易讀。
