耶和華對我說：「現在，你去當著他們的面把這些話刻在版上，記在書卷上，永遠留給後世作明證。他們是悖逆的民族，是說謊的兒女，不肯聽從耶和華的教導。他們對先見說，『你們不要再看異象了。』又對先知說，『不要再教導我們是非對錯。給我們說些好聽的話，講些虛幻的事吧。讓開！不要擋我們的路！不要再給我們講以色列聖者的事。』

第二樣災難過去了，第三樣災難又接踵而來！

論到猶大王約雅敬，你要這樣寫，『耶和華說，你把卷軸燒掉，還說為什麼上面寫著巴比倫王必來毀滅這地方和其中的人畜。所以耶和華說，猶大王約雅敬啊，你的子孫沒有一人能登大衛的寶座，你的屍體必被棄之荒野，遭受烈日的暴曬和夜霜的侵襲。我要因你、你後裔和你臣僕的罪惡而懲罰你們。因為你們不聽我的警告，我要給你們以及耶路撒冷和猶大的居民降下我說過的災禍。』」於是，耶利米又拿了一個卷軸，交給尼利亞的兒子書記巴錄，他按耶利米的口述，把猶大王約雅敬燒毀的那卷軸上的話都記下來，還增添了許多類似的話。

耶和華對我說：「將我的啟示記下來，清楚地刻在版上，便於人們閱讀。
