约雅敬的日子，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒上来；约雅敬服事他三年，以后又背叛他。耶和华派迦勒底、亚兰、摩押和亚扪人的军队来攻击约雅敬；耶和华派他们来攻击犹大，要毁灭它，正如耶和华藉他仆人众先知所说的话。这事临到犹大，诚然是出于耶和华的命令，要把犹大从自己面前赶出去，是因玛拿西所犯的一切罪，又因他流无辜人的血，使无辜人的血充满耶路撒冷；耶和华不愿赦免。约雅敬其余的事，凡他所做的，不都写在《犹大列王记》上吗？约雅敬与他祖先同睡，他儿子约雅斤接续他作王。

耶和华的受膏者是我们鼻中的气，被抓到他们的坑里，论到他，我们曾说：“我们必在他荫下，在列国中存活。”

我要把我的网撒在他身上，他就被我的罗网缠住。我要带他到巴比伦，在那里因他背叛我的罪惩罚他。

当他的军兵围困城的时候，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒亲自来到耶路撒冷。
