He follows my decrees and faithfully keeps my laws. That man is righteous; he will surely live, declares the Sovereign Lord.

“ And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?

if a wicked person returns a pledge, pays back what he has taken by robbery, walks by the statutes which ensure life without committing injustice, he shall certainly live; he shall not die.

But someone may well say,“ You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.But are you willing to acknowledge, you foolish person, that faith without works is useless?Was our father Abraham not justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar?You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;and the Scripture was fulfilled which says,“ And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God.You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.In the same way, was Rahab the prostitute not justified by works also when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

In view of this I also do my best to maintain a blameless conscience both before God and before other people, always.

Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous;

The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him.”

If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness also has been born of Him.

But let justice roll out like waters, And righteousness like an ever flowing stream.

Blessed are those whose way is blameless, Who walk in the Law of the Lord.Blessed are those who comply with His testimonies, And seek Him with all their heart.They also do no injustice; They walk in His ways.You have ordained Your precepts, That we are to keep them diligently.Oh that my ways may be established To keep Your statutes!Then I will not be ashamed When I look at all Your commandments.

“ Now, Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I am teaching you to perform, so that you will live and go in and take possession of the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you.

He also gave them the lands of the nations, So that they might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,And that they might keep His statutes And comply with His laws; Praise the Lord!

“ Now this is the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments which the Lord your God has commanded me to teach you, so that you may do them in the land where you are going over to take possession of it,so that you, your son, and your grandson will fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.

Seek good and not evil, so that you may live; And so may the Lord God of armies be with you, Just as you have said!

They were both righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and requirements of the Lord.

But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness. They did not walk in My statutes and they rejected My ordinances, which, if a person follows them, then he will live by them; and they greatly profaned My Sabbaths. Then I resolved to pour out My wrath on them in the wilderness, to annihilate them.

“ And My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances, and keep My statutes and follow them.

Now Moses summoned all Israel and said to them:“ Listen, Israel, to the statutes and ordinances which I am speaking today for you to hear, so that you may learn them and be careful to do them.

And I will put My Spirit within you and bring it about that you walk in My statutes, and are careful and follow My ordinances.

Then You came down on Mount Sinai, And spoke with them from heaven; You gave them just ordinances and true laws, Good statutes and commandments.So You made known to them Your holy Sabbath, And gave them commandments, statutes, and law, Through Your servant Moses.

The Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much pure gold; Sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.Moreover, Your servant is warned by them; In keeping them there is great reward.

So you shall keep My statutes and My judgments, which, if a person follows them, then he will live by them; I am the Lord.

And he answered,“ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”And He said to him,“ You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.”But wanting to justify himself, he said to Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?”

But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves.For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does.

One who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to deceit And has not sworn deceitfully.He will receive a blessing from the Lord And righteousness from the God of his salvation.This is the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face— even Jacob. Selah

“ You shall therefore love the Lord your God, and always keep His directive, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.
