Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel?

Get rid of all the evil things you have done. Let me give you a new heart and a new spirit. Then you will be faithful to me. Why should you die, people of Israel?

Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel?

Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel?

“ Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight. Stop doing evil,Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor, Obtain justice for the orphan, Plead for the widow’s case.

for if you are living in accord with the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have placed before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,

Say to them,‘ As I live!’ declares the Lord God,‘ I take no pleasure at all in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then should you die, house of Israel?’

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,

And I said to them,‘ Throw away, each of you, the detestable things of his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.’

Let the wicked abandon his way, And the unrighteous person his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

Therefore, treat the parts of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.For it is because of these things that the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them.But now you also, rid yourselves of all of them: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene speech from your mouth.Do not lie to one another, since you stripped off the old self with its evil practices,

and I will give them one heart and one way, so that they will fear Me always, for their own good and for the good of their children after them.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

“ See, I have placed before you today life and happiness, and death and adversity,

Come close to God and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.

Since you have purified your souls in obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from the heart,

Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;

for I have not sent them,” declares the Lord,“ but they are prophesying falsely in My name, so that I will drive you away and that you will perish, you and the prophets who prophesy to you.”

You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may also become clean.

so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human lusts, but for the will of God.For the time already past is sufficient for you to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having pursued a course of indecent behavior, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties, and wanton idolatries.In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them in the same excesses of debauchery, and they slander you;

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,

And you will desecrate your carved images plated with silver, and your cast metal images plated with gold. You will scatter them as a filthy thing, and say to them,“ Be gone!”

Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said,“ It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first. Since you repudiate it and consider yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles.

“ You shall also say to this people,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ Behold, I am setting before you the way of life and the way of death.

Turn from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.

that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to rid yourselves of the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,and that you are to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,and to put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.Therefore, ridding yourselves of falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, because we are parts of one another.Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,and do not give the devil an opportunity.The one who steals must no longer steal; but rather he must labor, producing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with the one who has need.Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear.Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.All bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and slander must be removed from you, along with all malice.Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Therefore, ridding yourselves of all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

“ Either assume the tree to be good as well as its fruit good, or assume the tree to be bad as well as its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.

But one who sins against me injures himself; All those who hate me love death.”
