因為他醒悟過來，痛改前非，必能活著，不致死亡。

Because they consider all the offenses they have committed and turn away from them, that person will surely live; they will not die.

They think about all the evil things they have done. And they turn away from them. So you can be sure they will live. They will not die.

我思想自己走過的路，就決定歸向你的法度。

我重視你的一切命令，便不致羞愧。

人只要觸犯律法中的一條，就等於違犯了全部，因為那位說「不可通姦」的，也說過「不可殺人」。如果你沒有犯通姦罪，卻殺了人，你仍違犯了律法。既然你們要按使人自由的律法受審判，就應該按律法行事為人。

所以，你們要治死身上屬世的罪惡，如淫亂、污穢、邪情、惡慾和貪心，貪心就是拜偶像，因為上帝的烈怒必臨到做這些事的悖逆之人。你們過去也和他們一樣過著罪惡的生活，但現在必須杜絕這一切的惡事，如怒氣、憤恨、惡毒、毀謗和污言穢語。不要彼此說謊，因為你們已經脫去了舊人和舊的行為，

「倘若這不肖子有一個好兒子，他看見父親的所作所為，不願步父親的後塵。

我聽見以法蓮在為自己悲歎，『我們就像未經馴服的牛犢，你管教我們，使我們順服，求你使我們回到你身邊，重新復興，因為你是我們的上帝耶和華。我們曾經離開你，但我們後悔了；我們醒悟之後捶胸頓足，痛悔不已，因早年的所作所為而羞愧難當。』」耶和華說：「以法蓮不是我的愛子嗎？他不是我喜悅的孩子嗎？我雖然常常責備他，但仍然惦記著他。我深深地想念他，我必憐憫他。

你們要離棄從前所有的罪惡，洗心革面。以色列人啊！你們何必走向滅亡呢？』

行為正直、遵行耶和華律法的人有福了！

人子啊，你要對你的同胞說，『當義人犯罪時，他以往的義救不了他；當惡人悔改時，他以往的惡不會使他滅沒。義人若犯罪，他以往的義不能使他存活。』

如果他們有智慧，就能明白這一切、知道自己的結局。

所以，人子啊，你要準備流亡的行裝，在白天當著他們的面從你住的地方搬到別處。他們雖然叛逆，或許還會明白其中的意思。

撒母耳對他們說：「如果你們全心歸向耶和華，就要除掉你們那些外族的神明，包括亞斯她錄神像，一心歸向耶和華，單單事奉祂，祂必從非利士人手中救你們。」於是，他們除掉了巴力和亞斯她錄神像，單單事奉耶和華。

主耶穌為我們犧牲自己，要救贖我們脫離一切罪惡，並潔淨我們，使我們作祂的子民，成為熱心行善的人。

最後，他醒悟過來，心想，『在我父親家裡，連僱工的口糧都綽綽有餘，我現在卻要在這裡餓死嗎？我要動身回到我父親身邊，對他說，父親，我得罪了天，也得罪了你，

「惡人若肯痛改前非，遵守我的律例，秉公行義，就必活著，不致死亡。
