He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed[ it] by great waters,[ and] set it[ as] a willow tree.

“‘ He took one of the seedlings of the land and put it in fertile soil. He planted it like a willow by abundant water,

And they shall spring up[ as] among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.

And hath taken of the king’s seed, and made a covenant with him, and hath taken an oath of him: he hath also taken the mighty of the land:

Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up, shall they carry away to the brook of the willows.

And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.

And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father’s brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
