Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

“ You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ( by grace you have been saved),

So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them.

For He says to Moses,“ I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.”

But I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, Who have said to you,‘ Lie down, that we may walk over you.’ And you have laid your body like the ground, And as the street, for those who walk over.”

And the Lord said:“ I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.

But you are cast out of your grave Like an abominable branch, Like the garment of those who are slain, Thrust through with a sword, Who go down to the stones of the pit, Like a corpse trodden underfoot.

Then she who is my enemy will see, And shame will cover her who said to me,“ Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will see her; Now she will be trampled down Like mud in the streets.

And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant,Saying,“ To you I will give the land of Canaan As the allotment of your inheritance,”When they were few in number, Indeed very few, and strangers in it.When they went from one nation to another, From one kingdom to another people,He permitted no one to do them wrong; Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes,Saying,“ Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.”

‘ You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.

“ Say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord God:“ On the day when I chose Israel and raised My hand in an oath to the descendants of the house of Jacob, and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt, I raised My hand in an oath to them, saying,‘ I am the Lord your God.’On that day I raised My hand in an oath to them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them,‘ flowing with milk and honey,’ the glory of all lands.Then I said to them,‘ Each of you, throw away the abominations which are before his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’But they rebelled against Me and would not obey Me. They did not all cast away the abominations which were before their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said,‘ I will pour out My fury on them and fulfill My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.’But I acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the Gentiles among whom they were, in whose sight I had made Myself known to them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt.“ Therefore I made them go out of the land of Egypt and brought them into the wilderness.

Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

I have surely seen the oppression of my people who are in Egypt; I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you to Egypt.”’

He sent Moses His servant, And Aaron whom He had chosen.They performed His signs among them, And wonders in the land of Ham.He sent darkness, and made it dark; And they did not rebel against His word.He turned their waters into blood, And killed their fish.Their land abounded with frogs, Even in the chambers of their kings.He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, And lice in all their territory.He gave them hail for rain, And flaming fire in their land.He struck their vines also, and their fig trees, And splintered the trees of their territory.He spoke, and locusts came, Young locusts without number,And ate up all the vegetation in their land, And devoured the fruit of their ground.He also destroyed all the firstborn in their land, The first of all their strength.He also brought them out with silver and gold, And there was none feeble among His tribes.

“ Do not think in your heart, after the Lord your God has cast them out before you, saying,‘ Because of my righteousness the Lord has brought me in to possess this land’; but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out from before you.
