“‘ For this is what the sovereign LORD says: I will deal with you according to what you have done when you despised your oath by breaking your covenant.

主永恆主這麼說：你這藐視所起的誓、違犯了盟約的、我必照你所行的辦你；

主耶和華曰、爾藐誓爽約、我必依爾所行以報爾、

主耶和華又曰、爾爽盟約、予必因爾所行以報之。

主天主如是云、爾輕視誓言、背棄盟約、我必循爾所行以待爾、

“‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will deal with you as you deserve, because you have despised my oath by breaking the covenant.

The Lord and King says,“ I will punish you in keeping with what you have done. I sealed with a promise the covenant I made with you. You hated that promise. And you broke my covenant.

“ For thus says the Lord God: I will deal with you as you have done, you who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant,

“ Now this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will give you what you deserve, for you have taken your solemn vows lightly by breaking your covenant.

“‘ For this is what the Lord GOD says: I will deal with you according to what you have done, since you have despised the oath by breaking the covenant.

For this is what the Lord God says:“ I will also do with you as you have done, you who have despised the oath by breaking the covenant.

For thus says the Lord GOD:“ I will deal with you as you have done, who despised the oath by breaking the covenant.

For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also deal with thee as thou hast done, who hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

“ For this is what the Lord God says: I will deal with you according to what you have done, since you have despised the oath by breaking the covenant.

For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

“‘ For the Lord Yahweh says:“ I will also deal with you as you have done, who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

The earth is defiled by its inhabitants, for they have violated laws, disregarded the regulation, and broken the permanent treaty.

“‘ Therefore this is what the sovereign LORD says: As surely as I live, I will certainly repay him for despising my oath and breaking my covenant!

But to Moses the LORD said,“ Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from a distance.Moses alone may come near the LORD, but the others must not come near, nor may the people go up with him.”Moses came and told the people all the LORD’s words and all the decisions. All the people answered together,“ We are willing to do all the words that the LORD has said,”and Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. Early in the morning he built an altar at the foot of the mountain and arranged twelve standing stones– according to the twelve tribes of Israel.He sent young Israelite men, and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls for peace offerings to the LORD.Moses took half of the blood and put it in bowls, and half of the blood he splashed on the altar.He took the Book of the Covenant and read it aloud to the people, and they said,“ We are willing to do and obey all that the LORD has spoken.”So Moses took the blood and splashed it on the people and said,“ This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

He took one from the royal family, made a treaty with him, and put him under oath. He then took the leaders of the landso it would be a lowly kingdom which could not rise on its own but must keep its treaty with him in order to stand.But this one from Israel’s royal family rebelled against the king of Babylon by sending his emissaries to Egypt to obtain horses and a large army. Will he prosper? Will the one doing these things escape? Can he break the covenant and escape?“‘ As surely as I live, declares the sovereign LORD, surely in the city of the king who crowned him, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke– in the middle of Babylon he will die!

but wrath and anger to those who live in selfish ambition and do not obey the truth but follow unrighteousness.There will be affliction and distress on everyone who does evil, on the Jew first and also the Greek,

Too bad for the wicked sinners! For they will get exactly what they deserve.

My eye will not pity you; I will not spare you. For I will hold you responsible for your behavior, and you will suffer the consequences of your abominable practices. Then you will know that I am the LORD!

The answer will come back,“ It is because they broke their covenant with the LORD their God and worshiped and served other gods.”

Soon now I will pour out my rage on you; I will fully vent my anger against you. I will judge you according to your behavior. I will hold you accountable for all your abominable practices.My eye will not pity you; I will not spare you. For your behavior I will hold you accountable, and you will suffer the consequences of your abominable practices. Then you will know that it is I, the LORD, who is striking you.

Your own wickedness will bring about your punishment. Your unfaithful acts will bring down discipline on you. Know, then, and realize how utterly harmful it was for you to reject me, the LORD your God, to show no respect for me,” says the Lord GOD who rules over all.

“ Do not judge so that you will not be judged.For by the standard you judge you will be judged, and the measure you use will be the measure you receive.

Therefore speak to them and say to them,‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: When any one from the house of Israel erects his idols in his heart and sets the obstacle leading to his iniquity before his face, and then consults a prophet, I the LORD am determined to answer him personally according to the enormity of his idolatry.

It will not be like the old covenant that I made with their ancestors when I delivered them from Egypt. For they violated that covenant, even though I was like a faithful husband to them,” says the LORD.

The king stood by his pillar and renewed the covenant before the LORD, agreeing to follow the LORD and to obey his commandments, laws, and rules with all his heart and being, by carrying out the terms of this covenant recorded on this scroll.He made all who were in Jerusalem and Benjamin agree to it. The residents of Jerusalem acted in accordance with the covenant of God, the God of their ancestors.

You are standing today, all of you, before the LORD your God– the heads of your tribes, your elders, your officials, every Israelite man,your infants, your wives, and the foreigners living in your encampment, those who chop wood and those who carry water–so that you may enter by oath into the covenant the LORD your God is making with you today.Today he will affirm that you are his people and that he is your God, just as he promised you and as he swore by oath to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.It is not with you alone that I am making this covenant by oath,but with whoever stands with us here today before the LORD our God as well as those not with us here today.

Then people will say,“ Because they abandoned the covenant of the LORD, the God of their ancestors, which he made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.
