那時你的壞行為還沒露現出來；如今你竟成了像她的，成了以東女兒們辱罵的對象、以及她四圍的眾人、那四圍輕蔑你的、非利士女兒們——辱罵的對象呢！

其時爾惡尚未彰顯、亞蘭眾女、及四周之非利士眾女、尚未凌辱爾、藐視爾、

before your wickedness was uncovered. Even so, you are now scorned by the daughters of Edom and all her neighbors and the daughters of the Philistines— all those around you who despise you.

That was before your sin was uncovered. Now the daughters of Edom make fun of you. So do all her neighbors and the daughters of the Philistines. Everyone who lives around you hates you.

before your wickedness was uncovered? Now you have become an object of reproach for the daughters of Syria and all those around her, and for the daughters of the Philistines, those all around who despise you.

But now your greater wickedness has been exposed to all the world, and you are the one who is scorned— by Edom and all her neighbors and by Philistia.

before your wickedness was uncovered, so now you have become the disgrace of the daughters of Edom and of all who are around her, of the daughters of the Philistines— those surrounding you who despise you.

before your wickedness was uncovered. It was like the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria and all those around her, and of the daughters of the Philistines, who despise you everywhere.

before thy wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, that do despite unto thee round about.

Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of[ thy] reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all[ that are] round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.

Then Aram’s King Rezin and Israel’s King Pekah son of Remaliah came to wage war against Jerusalem. They besieged Ahaz but were not able to conquer him.At that time Aram’s King Rezin recovered Elath for Aram and expelled the Judahites from Elath. Then the Arameans came to Elath, and they still live there today.So Ahaz sent messengers to King Tiglath-pileser of Assyria, saying,“ I am your servant and your son. March up and save me from the grasp of the king of Aram and of the king of Israel, who are rising up against me.”

This is what the Lord GOD says: Because your lust was poured out and your nakedness exposed by your acts of prostitution with your lovers, and because of all your detestable idols and the blood of your children that you gave to them,I am therefore going to gather all the lovers you pleased— all those you loved as well as all those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around and expose your nakedness to them so they see you completely naked.

So the LORD his God handed Ahaz over to the king of Aram. He attacked him and took many captives to Damascus. Ahaz was also handed over to the king of Israel, who struck him with great force:Pekah son of Remaliah killed one hundred twenty thousand in Judah in one day— all brave men— because they had abandoned the LORD God of their ancestors.

This took place during the reign of Ahaz, son of Jotham, son of Uzziah king of Judah: Aram’s King Rezin and Israel’s King Pekah son of Remaliah went to fight against Jerusalem, but they were not able to conquer it.

The Philistines also raided the cities of the Judean foothills and the Negev of Judah. They captured and occupied Beth-shemesh, Aijalon, and Gederoth, as well as Soco, Timnah, and Gimzo with their surrounding villages.For the LORD humbled Judah because of King Ahaz of Judah, who threw off restraint in Judah and was unfaithful to the LORD.Then King Tiglath-pileser of Assyria came against Ahaz; he oppressed him and did not give him support.Although Ahaz plundered the LORD’s temple and the palace of the king and of the rulers and gave the plunder to the king of Assyria, it did not help him.At the time of his distress, King Ahaz himself became more unfaithful to the LORD.He sacrificed to the gods of Damascus which had defeated him; he said,“ Since the gods of the kings of Aram are helping them, I will sacrifice to them so that they will help me.” But they were the downfall of him and of all Israel.

So don’t judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.

“ Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you have drawn attention to your guilt, exposing your transgressions, so that your sins are revealed in all your actions— since you have done this, you will be captured by them.

Daughter Zion, your punishment is complete; he will not lengthen your exile. But he will punish your iniquity, Daughter Edom, and will expose your sins.

Now I will expose her shame in the sight of her lovers, and no one will rescue her from my power.

“ Have you not noticed what these people have said? They say,‘ The LORD has rejected the two families he had chosen.’ My people are treated with contempt and no longer regarded as a nation among them.

In the year that King Ahaz died, this pronouncement came:

when I heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim and the crimes of Samaria will be exposed. For they practice fraud; a thief breaks in; a raiding party pillages outside.

Balaam proclaimed his poem: Balak brought me from Aram; the king of Moab, from the eastern mountains:“ Come, put a curse on Jacob for me; come, denounce Israel!”

When she flaunted her promiscuity and exposed her nakedness, I turned away from her in disgust just as I turned away from her sister.Yet she multiplied her acts of promiscuity, remembering the days of her youth when she acted like a prostitute in the land of Egypt

Shem’s sons were Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.Aram’s sons: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.

You have done these things, and I kept silent; you thought I was just like you. But I will rebuke you and lay out the case before you.
