It’s like the old proverb says:‘ From evil people evil proceeds.’ But my hand will not be against you.

They rejected his rules, the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and the laws he had commanded them to obey. They paid allegiance to worthless idols, and so became worthless to the LORD. They copied the practices of the surrounding nations in blatant disregard of the LORD’s command.

But they did not obey, and Manasseh misled them so that they sinned more than the nations whom the LORD had destroyed from before the Israelites.

They mixed in with the nations and learned their ways.They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them.They sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons.They shed innocent blood– the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. The land was polluted by bloodshed.

“ Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of Israel,‘ The days pass slowly, and every vision fails’?

When Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, he got up and went down to take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.

They burned incense on all the high places just like the nations whom the LORD had driven away from before them. Their evil practices made the LORD angry.
