我必罰爾、與背夫之婦、殺子之母同科、我怒甚烈、使爾飲刃、

我必罰爾、如罰行淫之婦、及殺人之婦、我必使爾如淫婦為夫所殺、其怒甚烈、雪其忿心、

I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit adultery and who shed blood; I will bring on you the blood vengeance of my wrath and jealous anger.

I will hand down my sentence against you. You will be punished like women who commit adultery and sacrifice their children to other gods. I am so angry with you. So I will sentence you to death for everything you have done.

I will punish you for your murder and adultery. I will cover you with blood in my jealous fury.

I will judge you the way adulteresses and those who shed blood are judged. Then I will bring about the shedding of your blood in jealous wrath.

So I will judge you as women who commit adultery or shed blood are judged; and I will bring on you the blood of wrath and jealousy.

“ If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

Therefore deliver up their children to famine; give them over to the power of the sword; let their wives become childless and widowed. May their men meet death by pestilence, their youths be struck down by the sword in battle.

Then Judah said to Tamar his daughter-in-law,“ Remain a widow in your father’s house, till Shelah my son grows up”— for he feared that he would die, like his brothers. So Tamar went and remained in her father’s house.

About three months later Judah was told,“ Tamar your daughter-in-law has been immoral. Moreover, she is pregnant by immorality.” And Judah said,“ Bring her out, and let her be burned.”

Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly.

“ Whoever strikes a man so that he dies shall be put to death.

But righteous men shall pass judgment on them with the sentence of adulteresses, and with the sentence of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses, and blood is on their hands.”For thus says the Lord God:“ Bring up a vast host against them, and make them an object of terror and a plunder.And the host shall stone them and cut them down with their swords. They shall kill their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses.

Moreover, you shall accept no ransom for the life of a murderer, who is guilty of death, but he shall be put to death.

They shall bring up a crowd against you, and they shall stone you and cut you to pieces with their swords.

And you took your sons and your daughters, whom you had borne to me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your whorings so small a matterthat you slaughtered my children and delivered them up as an offering by fire to them?

And I will direct my jealousy against you, that they may deal with you in fury. They shall cut off your nose and your ears, and your survivors shall fall by the sword. They shall seize your sons and your daughters, and your survivors shall be devoured by fire.

For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. It is what they deserve!”

The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord is avenging and wrathful; the Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies.

Thus says the Lord God, Because your lust was poured out and your nakedness uncovered in your whorings with your lovers, and with all your abominable idols, and because of the blood of your children that you gave to them,

They have poured out their blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there was no one to bury them.We have become a taunt to our neighbors, mocked and derided by those around us.How long, O Lord? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealousy burn like fire?

“ If a man is found lying with the wife of another man, both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman. So you shall purge the evil from Israel.“ If there is a betrothed virgin, and a man meets her in the city and lies with her,then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbor’s wife. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.

The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midstthey said to him,“ Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery.Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?”
