Must you also slaughter my children by sacrificing them to idols?

你行淫乱岂是小事，竟将我的儿女杀了，使他们经火归与他吗？

你竟把我的儿女杀了，使他们经火献给它们！

爾之行淫、豈為細故、致殺我子女、付於偶像、使之經火乎、

爾殺我子女、焚之以火、以敬偶像。

You slaughtered my children and sacrificed them to the idols.

You killed my children. You sacrificed them to other gods.

that you slaughtered my children and delivered them up as an offering by fire to them?

You slaughtered my children and gave them up when you passed them through the fire to the images.

You slaughtered My children and offered them to idols by making them pass through the fire.

that you have slain My children and offered them up to them by causing them to pass through the fire?

that thou hast slain my children, and delivered them up, in causing them to pass through the fire unto them?

They even sacrificed their own sons and daughters in the fire. They consulted fortune tellers and practiced sorcery and sold themselves to evil, arousing the Lord’s anger.

The Lord said to Moses,“ Give the people of Israel these instructions, which apply both to native Israelites and to the foreigners living in Israel.“ If any of them offer their children as a sacrifice to Molech, they must be put to death. The people of the community must stone them to death.I myself will turn against them and cut them off from the community, because they have defiled my sanctuary and brought shame on my holy name by offering their children to Molech.And if the people of the community ignore those who offer their children to Molech and refuse to execute them,I myself will turn against them and their families and will cut them off from the community. This will happen to all who commit spiritual prostitution by worshiping Molech.

“ Do not permit any of your children to be offered as a sacrifice to Molech, for you must not bring shame on the name of your God. I am the Lord.

Then the king defiled the altar of Topheth in the valley of Ben Hinnom, so no one could ever again use it to sacrifice a son or daughter in the fire as an offering to Molech.

They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons.

For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft,

Manasseh also sacrificed his own son in the fire. He practiced sorcery and divination, and he consulted with mediums and psychics. He did much that was evil in the Lord’s sight, arousing his anger.

They have built pagan shrines to Baal, and there they burn their sons as sacrifices to Baal. I have never commanded such a horrible deed; it never even crossed my mind to command such a thing!
