「人子啊，你要使耶路撒冷知道她的可憎行徑。

“人子啊！你要使耶路撒冷知道她那些可憎之事；

『人子啊，你要使耶路撒冷知道她那些可厭惡之事，

人子歟、當使耶路撒冷知其可惡之事、

人子、使耶路撒冷人知其所為、深可痛疾。

人子、爾使耶路撒冷知其所行可憎之事、

“ Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her detestable practices

“ Son of man, tell the people of Jerusalem the evil things they have done. I hate those things.

“ Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations,

“ Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her detestable sins.

“ Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her detestable practices.

“ Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations,

“ Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

“ Son of man, explain Jerusalem’s detestable practices to her.

“ Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her abominable practices

“ You, son of man, will you judge? Will you judge the bloody city? Then cause her to know all her abominations.

“ Will you judge them, son of man? Will you judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers.

“ Cry aloud! Don’t spare! Lift up your voice like a trumpet! Declare to my people their disobedience, and to the house of Jacob their sins.

“ So you, son of man: I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore hear the word from my mouth, and give them warnings from me.When I tell the wicked,‘ O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you don’t speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man will die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at your hand.Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he doesn’t turn from his way; he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.

Yahweh said moreover to me:“ Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominations.

He said to me,“ Go in, and see the wicked abominations that they do here.”So I went in and looked, and saw every form of creeping things, abominable animals, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed around on the wall.Seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel stood before them. In the middle of them Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan stood, every man with his censer in his hand; and the smell of the cloud of incense went up.Then he said to me,“ Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his rooms of imagery? For they say,‘ Yahweh doesn’t see us. Yahweh has forsaken the land.’”He said also to me,“ You will again see more of the great abominations which they do.”Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Yahweh’s house which was toward the north; and I saw the women sit there weeping for Tammuz.Then he said to me,“ Have you seen this, son of man? You will again see yet greater abominations than these.”He brought me into the inner court of Yahweh’s house; and I saw at the door of Yahweh’s temple, between the porch and the altar, there were about twenty- five men, with their backs toward Yahweh’s temple, and their faces toward the east. They were worshiping the sun toward the east.Then he said to me,“ Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence, and have turned again to provoke me to anger. Behold, they put the branch to their nose.

“ Put the trumpet to your lips! Something like an eagle is over Yahweh’s house, because they have broken my covenant, and rebelled against my law.
