「人子啊，你要使耶路撒冷知道它那些可憎的事。

「人子啊，你要使耶路撒冷知道她的可憎行徑。

“人子啊！你要使耶路撒冷知道她那些可憎之事；

『人子啊，你要使耶路撒冷知道她那些可厭惡之事，

人子歟、當使耶路撒冷知其可惡之事、

人子、使耶路撒冷人知其所為、深可痛疾。

人子、爾使耶路撒冷知其所行可憎之事、

“ Son of man, tell the people of Jerusalem the evil things they have done. I hate those things.

“ Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations,

“ Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her detestable sins.

“ Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her detestable practices.

“ Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations,

“ Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations;

“ Son of man, explain Jerusalem’s detestable practices to her.

Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

“ Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her abominable practices

“ Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations;

“ Son of man, will you judge her? Will you judge this city of bloodshed? Then confront her with all her detestable practices

“ Will you judge them? Will you judge them, son of man? Then confront them with the detestable practices of their ancestors

“ Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.

“ Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.When I say to the wicked,‘ You wicked person, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved.

The Lord said to me:“ Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then confront them with their detestable practices,

And he said to me,“ Go in and see the wicked and detestable things they are doing here.”So I went in and looked, and I saw portrayed all over the walls all kinds of crawling things and unclean animals and all the idols of Israel.In front of them stood seventy elders of Israel, and Jaazaniah son of Shaphan was standing among them. Each had a censer in his hand, and a fragrant cloud of incense was rising.He said to me,“ Son of man, have you seen what the elders of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? They say,‘ The Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken the land.’”Again, he said,“ You will see them doing things that are even more detestable.”Then he brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the house of the Lord, and I saw women sitting there, mourning the god Tammuz.He said to me,“ Do you see this, son of man? You will see things that are even more detestable than this.”He then brought me into the inner court of the house of the Lord, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar, were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun in the east.He said to me,“ Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the people of Judah to do the detestable things they are doing here? Must they also fill the land with violence and continually arouse my anger? Look at them putting the branch to their nose!

“ Put the trumpet to your lips! An eagle is over the house of the Lord because the people have broken my covenant and rebelled against my law.
