I had given you fine jewelry. It was made out of gold and silver. You used it to make for yourself statues of male gods. You worshiped those gods. You were not faithful to me.

人民見摩西遲遲不下山，就聚集到亞倫那裡去，對他說：“起來，為我們做神像可以走在我們前頭領路，因為那摩西，就是把我們從埃及地領出來的那個人，我們不知道他遭遇了甚麼事。”亞倫對他們說：“把你們妻子和兒女戴在耳上的金環摘下來，送來給我。”全體人民就把他們耳上的金耳環都摘下來，送來給亞倫。亞倫從他們手中接過來，用雕刻的工具雕刻，鑄造了一個牛像；他們就說：“以色列啊，這就是你們的神，就是把你從埃及地領出來的那位。”

他們要把自己的銀子拋在街上，把自己的金子當作污穢之物。在耶和華發怒的日子，他們的金銀不能拯救他們，不能滿足他們的心，也不能填滿他們的肚腹，因為這些金銀都成了叫他們落在罪孽裡的絆腳石。他們以美麗的飾物為誇耀，又用這些來鑄造可憎可厭的偶像，因此我要使它們成為污穢之物。

我用珠寶給你打扮，把手環戴在你手上，把項鍊戴在你頸上，

阿荷利巴又繼續行淫；她看見畫在牆上的人像，就是用鮮紅的顏料所畫的迦勒底人像，這些像的腰間束著腰帶，頭上有下垂的裹頭巾，他們看來像官長，有巴比倫人的樣子，迦勒底是他們出生之地。阿荷利巴的眼一看見，就戀慕他們，派遣使者到迦勒底去見他們。於是巴比倫人來，上了她愛情的床，與她行淫玷污了她；她被他們玷污以後，心就與他們疏遠。她既然顯露了她的淫行，露出了自己的下體，我的心就與她疏遠，好像我的心從前與她姊姊疏遠一樣。她還加倍行淫，懷念她幼年在埃及地行淫的日子。她戀慕她的情人，他們的下體像驢的下體；他們射精像馬一樣。這樣，你就渴想你幼年時的淫蕩；那時，埃及人撫弄過你的乳房，撫摩你年幼時的胸。

以色列最茂盛的葡萄樹，自己能結果子。他的果子越多，他就越增添祭壇；他的土地越肥美，他就使柱像越美麗。

因以色列把自己的淫行視作等閒，去與石頭木頭行淫，就把這地玷污了。

她在拜眾巴力的日子，向他們燒香，佩戴耳環首飾，打扮自己，跟隨她那些愛人，卻把我遺忘，所以我必懲罰她。”這是耶和華說的。

沒有人細心思想，也沒有人有知識有聰明說：“我把木頭的一半放在火裡燃燒，我也在炭火上烘過餅，烤過肉吃，剩下的，我卻用來做了一個可憎之物，我要向木頭叩拜嗎？”他所追求的只是灰塵，被迷惑了的心使他偏離正道了；他不能救自己，也不會說：“在我的右手中不是有個假神嗎？”

你在高高的山上安設你的床榻，又上到那裡去獻祭。你在門後，在門框後，安設了外族神的記號；你遠離了我，裸露了自己，就上床去，又擴張你的床，你也與他們立約；你愛他們的床，看他們的下體（“下體”:原文作“手”，是“下體”的委婉語）。
