他们要把自己的银子抛在街上，把自己的金子当作污秽之物。在耶和华发怒的日子，他们的金银不能拯救他们，不能满足他们的心，也不能填满他们的肚腹，因为这些金银都成了叫他们落在罪孽里的绊脚石。他们以美丽的饰物为夸耀，又用这些来铸造可憎可厌的偶像，因此我要使它们成为污秽之物。

我用珠宝给你打扮，把手环戴在你手上，把项链戴在你颈上，

阿荷利巴又继续行淫；她看见画在墙上的人像，就是用鲜红的颜料所画的迦勒底人像，这些像的腰间束着腰带，头上有下垂的裹头巾，他们看来像官长，有巴比伦人的样子，迦勒底是他们出生之地。阿荷利巴的眼一看见，就恋慕他们，派遣使者到迦勒底去见他们。于是巴比伦人来，上了她爱情的床，与她行淫玷污了她；她被他们玷污以后，心就与他们疏远。她既然显露了她的淫行，露出了自己的下体，我的心就与她疏远，好像我的心从前与她姊姊疏远一样。她还加倍行淫，怀念她幼年在埃及地行淫的日子。她恋慕她的情人，他们的下体像驴的下体；他们射精像马一样。这样，你就渴想你幼年时的淫荡；那时，埃及人抚弄过你的乳房，抚摩你年幼时的胸。

以色列最茂盛的葡萄树，自己能结果子。他的果子越多，他就越增添祭坛；他的土地越肥美，他就使柱像越美丽。

因以色列把自己的淫行视作等闲，去与石头木头行淫，就把这地玷污了。

她在拜众巴力的日子，向他们烧香，佩戴耳环首饰，打扮自己，跟随她那些爱人，却把我遗忘，所以我必惩罚她。”这是耶和华说的。

没有人细心思想，也没有人有知识有聪明说：“我把木头的一半放在火里燃烧，我也在炭火上烘过饼，烤过肉吃，剩下的，我却用来做了一个可憎之物，我要向木头叩拜吗？”他所追求的只是灰尘，被迷惑了的心使他偏离正道了；他不能救自己，也不会说：“在我的右手中不是有个假神吗？”

你在高高的山上安设你的床榻，又上到那里去献祭。你在门后，在门框后，安设了外族神的记号；你远离了我，裸露了自己，就上床去，又扩张你的床，你也与他们立约；你爱他们的床，看他们的下体（“下体”:原文作“手”，是“下体”的委婉语）。
