“ Therefore, this is what the sovereign LORD says: Like the wood of the vine is among the trees of the forest which I have provided as fuel for the fire– so I will provide the residents of Jerusalem as fuel.

所以，主耶和华如此说：“众树以内的葡萄树，我怎样使它在火中当柴，也必照样待耶路撒冷的居民。

所以，主耶和华如此说：我怎样使林中树里的葡萄树在火中当柴烧，我也必照样对待耶路撒冷的居民。

所以，主耶和华如此说：我怎样使林中树里的葡萄树在火中当柴烧，我也必照样对待耶路撒冷的居民。

所以，主耶和华说，我怎样把林中的葡萄树丢在火中当柴烧，也必照样丢弃耶路撒冷的居民。

因此，主耶和华这样说：“我怎样把树林中的葡萄树抛在火里当作燃料，也必照样对待耶路撒冷的居民。

所以，主耶和華如此說：「眾樹以內的葡萄樹，我怎樣使它在火中當柴，也必照樣待耶路撒冷的居民。

所以，主耶和華如此說：我怎樣使林中樹裏的葡萄樹在火中當柴燒，我也必照樣對待耶路撒冷的居民。

所以，主耶和華如此說：我怎樣使林中樹裏的葡萄樹在火中當柴燒，我也必照樣對待耶路撒冷的居民。

所以，主耶和華說，我怎樣把林中的葡萄樹丟在火中當柴燒，也必照樣丟棄耶路撒冷的居民。

因此，主耶和華這樣說：“我怎樣把樹林中的葡萄樹拋在火裡當作燃料，也必照樣對待耶路撒冷的居民。

故此主永恆主這麼說；正像森林樹木中的葡萄樹；我怎樣將它拋給火燒燬，我也必怎樣將耶路撒冷的居民丟給火燒。

主耶和華曰、叢林中之葡萄樹、我以之為薪、投之於火、我待耶路撒冷居民、亦若是、

主耶和華曰、若林木中、有葡萄樹、投之於火、別無所用、我視耶路撒冷居民亦若是。

主天主如是云、葡萄樹在林之諸樹中、我使之見投於火為薪、我使耶路撒冷居民亦若是、

“ Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: As I have given the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest as fuel for the fire, so will I treat the people living in Jerusalem.

Here is what the Lord and King says.“ Instead of the wood of any tree in the forest, I have given the vine to burn in the fire. I will treat the people who live in Jerusalem the same way.

Therefore thus says the Lord God: Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

“ And this is what the Sovereign Lord says: The people of Jerusalem are like grapevines growing among the trees of the forest. Since they are useless, I have thrown them on the fire to be burned.

Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says,“ Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire as fuel, so I will give up the residents of Jerusalem.

Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:‘ As the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

“ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:‘ Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give up the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: As the vine- tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

“ Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire as fuel, so I will give up the residents of Jerusalem.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:“ As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Like a lion that has come up from its lair the one who destroys nations has set out from his home base. He is coming out to lay your land waste. Your cities will become ruins and lie uninhabited.

Therefore, as flaming fire devours straw, and dry grass disintegrates in the flames, so their root will rot, and their flower will blow away like dust. For they have rejected the law of the LORD who commands armies, they have spurned the commands of the Holy One of Israel.So the LORD is furious with his people; he lifts his hand and strikes them. The mountains shake, and corpses lie like manure in the middle of the streets. Despite all this, his anger does not subside, and his hand is ready to strike again.

So,” the Lord GOD says,“ my raging fury will be poured out on this land. It will be poured out on human beings and animals, on trees and crops. And it will burn like a fire which cannot be extinguished.”

“ Son of man, of all the woody branches among the trees of the forest, what happens to the wood of the vine?

So I, the LORD, affirm that I will send for all the peoples of the north and my servant, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and all the nations that surround it. I will utterly destroy this land, its inhabitants, and all the nations that surround it and make them everlasting ruins. I will make them objects of horror and hissing scorn.I will put an end to the sounds of joy and gladness, to the glad celebration of brides and grooms in these lands. I will put an end to the sound of people grinding meal. I will put an end to lamps shining in their houses.This whole area will become a desolate wasteland. These nations will be subject to the king of Babylon for seventy years.’

But have my words and statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, not outlived your fathers? Then they paid attention and confessed,‘ The LORD who rules over all has indeed done what he said he would do to us, because of our sinful ways.’”

I will sing to my love– a song to my lover about his vineyard. My love had a vineyard on a fertile hill.He built a hedge around it, removed its stones, and planted a vine. He built a tower in the middle of it, and constructed a winepress. He waited for it to produce edible grapes, but it produced sour ones instead.So now, residents of Jerusalem, people of Judah, you decide between me and my vineyard!What more can I do for my vineyard beyond what I have already done? When I waited for it to produce edible grapes, why did it produce sour ones instead?Now I will inform you what I am about to do to my vineyard: I will remove its hedge and turn it into pasture, I will break its wall and allow animals to graze there.I will make it a wasteland; no one will prune its vines or hoe its ground, and thorns and briers will grow there. I will order the clouds not to drop any rain on it.

“ I, the LORD, also solemnly assert:‘ King Zedekiah of Judah, his officials, and the people who remain in Jerusalem or who have gone to live in Egypt are like those bad figs. I consider them to be just like those bad figs that are so bad they cannot be eaten.I will bring such disaster on them that all the kingdoms of the earth will be horrified. I will make them an object of reproach, a proverbial example of disaster. I will make them an object of ridicule, an example to be used in curses. That is how they will be remembered wherever I banish them.I will bring war, starvation, and disease on them until they are completely destroyed from the land I gave them and their ancestors.’”

“ The LORD did indeed remember and call to mind what you did! He remembered the sacrifices you and your ancestors, your kings, your leaders, and all the rest of the people of the land offered to other gods in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem.Finally the LORD could no longer endure your wicked deeds and the disgusting things you did. That is why your land has become the desolate, uninhabited ruin that it is today. That is why it has become a proverbial example used in curses.You have sacrificed to other gods! You have sinned against the LORD! You have not obeyed the LORD! You have not followed his laws, his statutes, and his decrees! That is why this disaster that is evident to this day has happened to you.”Then Jeremiah spoke to all the people, particularly to all the women.“ Listen to what the LORD has to say all you people of Judah who are in Egypt.The LORD God of Israel who rules over all says,‘ You women have confirmed by your actions what you vowed with your lips! You said,“ We will certainly carry out our vows to sacrifice and pour out drink offerings to the Queen of Heaven.” Well, then fulfill your vows! Carry them out!’But listen to what the LORD has to say, all you people of Judah who are living in the land of Egypt. The LORD says,‘ I hereby swear by my own great name that none of the people of Judah who are living anywhere in Egypt will ever again invoke my name in their oaths! Never again will any of them use it in an oath saying,“ As surely as the Lord GOD lives….”I will indeed see to it that disaster, not prosperity, happens to them. All the people of Judah who are in the land of Egypt will die in war or from starvation until not one of them is left.

I made Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and its officials drink it. I did it so Judah would become a ruin. I did it so Judah, its kings, and its officials would become an object of horror and of hissing scorn, an example used in curses. Such is already becoming the case!

Then I, the LORD, promise that I will hand over King Zedekiah of Judah, his officials, and any of the people who survive the war, starvation, and disease. I will hand them over to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and to their enemies who want to kill them. He will slaughter them with the sword. He will not show them any mercy, compassion, or pity.’

and say to the scrub land of the Negev,‘ Hear the word of the LORD: This is what the sovereign LORD says: Look here, I am about to start a fire in you, and it will devour every green tree and every dry tree in you. The flaming fire will not be extinguished, and the whole surface of the ground from the Negev to the north will be scorched by it.And everyone will see that I, the LORD, have burned it; it will not be extinguished.’”

Say to them:‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says:“‘ A great eagle with broad wings, long feathers, with full plumage which was multi-hued, came to Lebanon and took the top of the cedar.He plucked off its topmost shoot; he brought it to a land of merchants and planted it in a city of traders.He took one of the seedlings of the land, placed it in a cultivated plot; a shoot by abundant water, like a willow he planted it.It sprouted and became a vine, spreading low to the ground; its branches turning toward him, its roots were under itself. So it became a vine; it produced shoots and sent out branches.“‘ There was another great eagle with broad wings and thick plumage. Now this vine twisted its roots toward him and sent its branches toward him to be watered from the soil where it was planted.In a good field, by abundant waters, it was planted to grow branches, bear fruit, and become a beautiful vine.“‘ Say to them: This is what the sovereign LORD says:“‘ Will it prosper? Will he not rip out its roots and cause its fruit to rot and wither? All its foliage will wither. No strong arm or large army will be needed to pull it out by its roots.Consider! It is planted, but will it prosper? Will it not wither completely when the east wind blows on it? Will it not wither in the soil where it sprouted?’”
