“ Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than any other wood, the vine branch which is among the trees of the forest?

“人子啊，葡萄树比别样树有什么强处？葡萄枝比众树枝有什么好处？

“人子啊，葡萄树比一切其他的树，就是树林里众树木的树枝，有什么长处呢？

“人子啊，葡萄树比一切其他的树，就是树林里众树木的树枝，有什么长处呢？

“人子啊，葡萄木比林中其他木材更好吗？

“人子啊！葡萄树的木料怎能胜过树林中的枝子呢？

「人子啊，葡萄樹比別樣樹有甚麼強處？葡萄枝比眾樹枝有甚麼好處？

「人子啊，葡萄樹比一切其他的樹，就是樹林裏眾樹木的樹枝，有甚麼長處呢？

「人子啊，葡萄樹比一切其他的樹，就是樹林裏眾樹木的樹枝，有甚麼長處呢？

「人子啊，葡萄木比林中其他木材更好嗎？

“人子啊！葡萄樹的木料怎能勝過樹林中的枝子呢？

『人子啊，葡萄樹比別樣樹有甚麼強處呢？森林樹木中的葡萄枝比別的樹枝有甚麼好處呢？

人子歟、葡萄樹在眾木中、葡萄枝在叢林中、有何長乎、

人子、葡萄之樹、豈得於林中眾木、等量齊觀乎。

人子、葡萄樹較諸他樹、有何長乎、葡萄樹枝、在林之諸樹中、有何勝乎、

“ Son of man, how is the wood of a vine different from that of a branch from any of the trees in the forest?

“ Son of man, how is the wood of a vine different from the wood of any tree in the forest?

“ Son of man, how does the wood of the vine surpass any wood, the vine branch that is among the trees of the forest?

“ Son of man, how does a grapevine compare to a tree? Is a vine’s wood as useful as the wood of a tree?

“ Son of man, how does the wood of the vine, that branch among the trees of the forest, compare to any other wood?

“ Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than any wood of a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

Son of man, what is the vine- tree more than any tree, the vine- branch which is among the trees of the forest?

“ Son of man, how does the wood of the vine, that branch among the trees of the forest, compare to any other wood?

Son of man, What is the vine tree more than any tree,[ or than] a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

“ Son of man, of all the woody branches among the trees of the forest, what happens to the wood of the vine?

“ Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, the vine- branch which is among the trees of the forest?

Now let me sing to my Well-beloved A song of my Beloved regarding His vineyard: My Well-beloved has a vineyard On a very fruitful hill.He dug it up and cleared out its stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, And also made a winepress in it; So He expected it to bring forth good grapes, But it brought forth wild grapes.“ And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, Judge, please, between Me and My vineyard.What more could have been done to My vineyard That I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, Did it bring forth wild grapes?And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; And break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.I will lay it waste; It shall not be pruned or dug, But there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds That they rain no rain on it.”For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, And the men of Judah are His pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help.

Israel empties his vine; He brings forth fruit for himself. According to the multitude of his fruit He has increased the altars; According to the bounty of his land They have embellished his sacred pillars.

You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations, and planted it.You prepared room for it, And caused it to take deep root, And it filled the land.The hills were covered with its shadow, And the mighty cedars with its boughs.She sent out her boughs to the Sea, And her branches to the River.Why have You broken down her hedges, So that all who pass by the way pluck her fruit?The boar out of the woods uproots it, And the wild beast of the field devours it.Return, we beseech You, O God of hosts; Look down from heaven and see, And visit this vineAnd the vineyard which Your right hand has planted, And the branch that You made strong for Yourself.It is burned with fire, it is cut down; They perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.

Yet I had planted you a noble vine, a seed of highest quality. How then have you turned before Me Into the degenerate plant of an alien vine?

THE SHULAMITE: I went down to the garden of nuts To see the verdure of the valley, To see whether the vine had budded And the pomegranates had bloomed.

Then He began to tell the people this parable:“ A certain man planted a vineyard, leased it to vinedressers, and went into a far country for a long time.Now at vintage-time he sent a servant to the vinedressers, that they might give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the vinedressers beat him and sent him away empty-handed.Again he sent another servant; and they beat him also, treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed.And again he sent a third; and they wounded him also and cast him out.“ Then the owner of the vineyard said,‘ What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Probably they will respect him when they see him.’But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying,‘ This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. Therefore what will the owner of the vineyard do to them?He will come and destroy those vinedressers and give the vineyard to others.” And when they heard it they said,“ Certainly not!”

“ I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.“ I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

HER BROTHERS: Catch us the foxes, The little foxes that spoil the vines, For our vines have tender grapes.

Let us get up early to the vineyards; Let us see if the vine has budded, Whether the grape blossoms are open, And the pomegranates are in bloom. There I will give you my love.

Solomon had a vineyard at Baal Hamon; He leased the vineyard to keepers; Everyone was to bring for its fruit A thousand silver coins.( TO SOLOMON): My own vineyard is before me. You, O Solomon, may have a thousand, And those who tend its fruit two hundred.

Wail, O cypress, for the cedar has fallen, Because the mighty trees are ruined. Wail, O oaks of Bashan, For the thick forest has come down.

The fig tree puts forth her green figs, And the vines with the tender grapes Give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away!

Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed like a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, And the mountain of the temple Like the bare hills of the forest.

“ Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country.Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit.And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another.Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them.Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying,‘ They will respect my son.’But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves,‘ This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him.“ Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?”They said to Him,“ He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.”

Then He began to speak to them in parables:“ A man planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a place for the wine vat and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country.Now at vintage-time he sent a servant to the vinedressers, that he might receive some of the fruit of the vineyard from the vinedressers.And they took him and beat him and sent him away empty-handed.Again he sent them another servant, and at him they threw stones, wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated.And again he sent another, and him they killed; and many others, beating some and killing some.Therefore still having one son, his beloved, he also sent him to them last, saying,‘ They will respect my son.’But those vinedressers said among themselves,‘ This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’So they took him and killed him and cast him out of the vineyard.“ Therefore what will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the vinedressers, and give the vineyard to others.

Sing, O heavens, for the Lord has done it! Shout, you lower parts of the earth; Break forth into singing, you mountains, O forest, and every tree in it! For the Lord has redeemed Jacob, And glorified Himself in Israel.

For their vine is of the vine of Sodom And of the fields of Gomorrah; Their grapes are grapes of gall, Their clusters are bitter.Their wine is the poison of serpents, And the cruel venom of cobras.
