Or[ if] I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:

倘若我使刀剑临到那里，毁灭人和牲畜，

如果我使刀剑临到那地，说：‘愿刀剑经过那地，好让我把人和牲畜从那地剪除。’

或者我使刀劍臨到那地，說：刀劍哪，要經過那地，以致我將人與牲畜從其中剪除；

或者我使刀劍臨到那地，說：『讓刀劍穿越那地』，以致我把人與牲畜從其中剪除；

或者我使刀劍臨到那地，說：『讓刀劍穿越那地』，以致我把人與牲畜從其中剪除；

倘若我使刀劍臨到那裡，毀滅人和牲畜，

如果我使刀劍臨到那地，說：‘願刀劍經過那地，好讓我把人和牲畜從那地剪除。’

或者我使刀劍臨到那地，說：願刀劍經過那地，好使我將人和牲口都從那裏剪除掉；

我若使鋒刃臨於斯土、曰鋒刃歟、遍經斯地、絕其人畜、

如我降以鋒刃、使其國人畜、悉行翦滅、

如我使其國遇鋒刃、鋒刃徧害其地、於其中絕人與畜、

“ Or if I bring a sword against that country and say,‘ Let the sword pass throughout the land,’ and I kill its people and their animals,

“ Or suppose I send swords to kill the people in that country. And I say,‘ Let swords sweep all through the land.’ And I kill its people and their animals.

“ Or if I bring a sword upon that land and say, Let a sword pass through the land, and I cut off from it man and beast,

“ Or suppose I were to bring war against the land, and I sent enemy armies to destroy both people and animals.

“ Or suppose I bring a sword against that land and say,‘ Let a sword pass through it,’ so that I wipe out both people and animals from it.

Or if I were to bring a sword on that country and say,‘ A sword is to pass through the country,’ and I eliminated human and animal life from it,

“ Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say,‘ Sword, go through the land,’ and I cut off man and beast from it,

Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off from it man and beast;

“ Or if I bring a sword against that land and say: Let a sword pass through it, so that I wipe out both man and animal from it,

“ Or suppose I were to bring a sword against that land and say,‘ Let a sword pass through the land,’ and I were to kill both people and animals.

“ Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say,‘ Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off from it man and animal;’

And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of[ my] covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I[ am] against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:

A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.

I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.

O thou sword of the LORD, how long[ will it be] ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.

Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:

And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that[ are] with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and cut off man and beast out of thee.

Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son,[ as] every tree.And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it[ shall be] upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon[ thy] thigh.Because[ it is] a trial, and what if[ the sword] contemn even the rod? it shall be no[ more], saith the Lord GOD.Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite[ thine] hands together, and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it[ is] the sword of the great[ men that are] slain, which entereth into their privy chambers.I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that[ their] heart may faint, and[ their] ruins be multiplied: ah![ it is] made bright,[ it is] wrapped up for the slaughter.

So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken[ it].

Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing[ their] flocks to lie down.
