Then the people of Israel will no longer stray from me, nor will they defile themselves anymore with all their sins. They will be my people, and I will be their God, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

Then the people of Israel will no longer wander away from me. And they will not make themselves‘ unclean’ anymore with their many sins. They will be my people. And I will be their God,” ’ announces the Lord and King.”

They won’t defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will save them out of all their dwelling places, in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. So they will be my people, and I will be their God.

It shall be for the priests who are sanctified of the sons of Zadok, who have kept my instruction, who didn’t go astray when the children of Israel went astray, as the Levites went astray.

“‘“ But the Levites who went far from me, when Israel went astray, who went astray from me after their idols, they will bear their iniquity.

“‘ They will come there, and they will take away all its detestable things and all its abominations from there.I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace,’ saying,‘ Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you; so you shall be my people, and I will be your God;

“‘“ But the Levitical priests, the sons of Zadok, who performed the duty of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, shall come near to me to minister to me. They shall stand before me to offer to me the fat and the blood,” says the Lord Yahweh.

“ But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” says Yahweh:“ I will put my law in their inward parts, and I will write it in their heart. I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Then they will be my people, and I will be their God.

So the house of Israel will know that I am Yahweh their God, from that day and forward.

But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son.

“ For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days,” says the Lord;“ I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

For those who lead this people lead them astray; and those who are led by them are destroyed.

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your filthiness, and from all your idols.I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. You will keep my ordinances and do them.You will dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers. You will be my people, and I will be your God.I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine on you.

I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say,‘ It is my people;’ and they will say,‘ Yahweh is my God.’”

forsaking the right way, they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of wrongdoing;

My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have caused them to go astray. They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill. They have forgotten their resting place.

The Lord Yahweh says:“ Behold, I am against the shepherds. I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep. The shepherds won’t feed themselves any more. I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.”“‘ For the Lord Yahweh says:“ Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so I will seek out my sheep. I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country.I will feed them with good pasture; and their fold will be on the mountains of the height of Israel. There they will lie down in a good fold. They will feed on fat pasture on the mountains of Israel.I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down,” says the Lord Yahweh.“ I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong. I will feed them in justice.”’“ As for you, O my flock, the Lord Yahweh says:‘ Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, the rams and the male goats.Does it seem a small thing to you to have fed on the good pasture, but you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture? And to have drunk of the clear waters, but must you foul the residue with your feet?As for my sheep, they eat that which you have trodden with your feet, and they drink that which you have fouled with your feet.’“ Therefore the Lord Yahweh says to them:‘ Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.Because you thrust with side and with shoulder, and push all the diseased with your horns, until you have scattered them abroad;therefore I will save my flock, and they will no more be a prey. I will judge between sheep and sheep.I will set up one shepherd over them, and he will feed them, even my servant David. He will feed them, and he will be their shepherd.I, Yahweh, will be their God, and my servant David prince among them. I, Yahweh, have spoken it.“‘ I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause evil animals to cease out of the land. They will dwell securely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.I will make them and the places around my hill a blessing. I will cause the shower to come down in its season. There will be showers of blessing.The tree of the field will yield its fruit, and the earth will yield its increase, and they will be secure in their land. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I have broken the bars of their yoke, and have delivered them out of the hand of those who made slaves of them.They will no more be a prey to the nations, neither will the animals of the earth devour them; but they will dwell securely, and no one will make them afraid.I will raise up to them a plantation for renown, and they will no more be consumed with famine in the land, and not bear the shame of the nations any more.They will know that I, Yahweh, their God am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, says the Lord Yahweh.You my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are men, and I am your God,’ says the Lord Yahweh.”

All Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall not do any more wickedness like this among you.

Before I was afflicted, I went astray; but now I observe your word.

My tent also will be with them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your offspring after you.

Therefore Yahweh of Armies says concerning the prophets:“ Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink poisoned water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”

Those who remain shall hear, and fear, and will never again commit any such evil among you.
